One of the most abundantly available non-conventional energy sources is solar energy. The advantages are that it freely available, sustainable, non-exhaustible, pollution-free, etc. Many thermal technologies frequently employed to utilize for different household, agricultural, residential, and industrial applications. A flat plate collector (FPSC) one popular devices harvesting transforming radiation into useful heat. low performance FPSC its major disadvantages. can be enhanced using active, passive, mixed methods. In this article, various enhancement techniques FPSC, including design modification, use inserts, selective coating, nanofluid, phase change material, mini/microchannels, transparent insulation discussed. nanomaterial coatings reduce convection losses from FPSC. High absorptivity black nickel nanoparticles make them excellent coatings. with CuO/water nanofluid was more efficient than other metal oxides. a minichannel integrated better conventional type because direct contact water, which enhances heat transfer rate. recent technological development discussed in article will very scientific community.

Five different solar stills (SSs) have been tested in this experimental study. Hemispherical SS, tubular pyramid double slope and conventional SS are the five systems.
