Purpose Despite the growing importance of digital transformation, few studies have investigated its precise effects on firm efficiency. This research explores differential transformation profitability and marketability manufacturing firms. Design/methodology/approach We analyze relationship between efficiency using a dataset Chinese-listed firms from 2011 to 2023. Against the backdrop of accelerated global digital transformation and shift toward open innovation models, this study examines how enterprises leverage capabilities to integrate into networks (GINs) enhance performance, while exploring moderating role organizational flexibility. Drawing on dynamic capability social network theories, a multidimensional framework (perception, operation, coordination) flexibility (cultural, resource, capability) is proposed. The empirical analysis 343 Chinese multinational corporations using SPSS 27 AMOS 24 reveals three key findings: (1) all dimensions significantly improve performance; (2) GIN integration partially mediates relationship by facilitating resource acquisition collaboration; (3) positively moderates GIN–performance link, cultural show no significant effects. This advances research emphasizing processes over static technology adoption provides practical insights for balancing technological investments with adaptability.

This study analyzes data from companies listed on the Small and Medium Enterprise Board Growth Market between 2011 2021 to assess impact of digital inclusive finance SME innovation. It also explores how this effect varies across different industries. The results indicate a significant positive correlation index SMEs’ innovation output at 1% significance level. Furthermore, improving coverage breadth usage depth is more effective in promoting technological than enhancing their digitalization Additionally, heterogeneity analysis underscores its driving within secondary sector. Mechanism testing reveals that enhances ecosystem by reducing financing barriers access capital. recommends accelerating development financial system optimizing allocation resources. it emphasizes need support transformation, foster talent development, implement targeted industrial policies.
