This review focuses on the use of conventional gel or coil and “new” generation hydrogel used as an embolic agent in endovascular applications. Recently, these been modified optimised develop new form hydrogels based alginate, chitosan, fibroin other polymers through phase transition phenomena. The main aim this work was expand data already known literature concerning application devices field, focusing advantages, disadvantages safety profiles innovative also some clinical cases reported. case series concerns correction exclusion endoleak type I II appeared after procedure aneurysmal abdominal aortic (EVAR) with a (coil penumbra released LANTERN microcatheter), renal arterial malformation (MAV) (penumbra microcatheter) 18 arteries where sealing endoprosthesis not guaranteed.

Rare earth metal nanoparticles, some of which are already widely used in medicine, growing interest the modern scientific community. One promising rare metals for biomedical applications is cerium, specifically its oxide form, characterized by a higher level stability and safety.
