ABSTRACT The pharmacological effects of Amauroderma rugosum (AR), an edible mushroom found mainly in Southeast Asia, are not well studied, particularly its neuroprotective properties. This study investigated the AR aqueous extract (ARW) a d ‐galactose‐induced accelerated aging mouse model and senescent SH‐SY5Y neuronal cells. Behavioral tests (open field, Morris water maze, Y‐maze, rotarod) demonstrated that mice exhibited impaired cognitive function, memory loss, anxiety, reduced locomotor ability, all which were alleviated by ARW treatment. Histological analysis showed neuropathological lesions hippocampus. In cells, polysaccharide (ARP) enhanced cell viability decreased intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels concentration‐dependent manner. ARP also cellular senescence apoptosis ‐galactose‐treated Western blot indicated upregulated phosphorylation mTOR increased expression antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase 1 heme‐oxygenase‐1. Additionally, altered gut microbiota, increasing relative abundance beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus reuteri decreasing harmful like Clostridium scindens . These findings suggest exerts primarily through polysaccharides modulating oxidative stress, activating mTOR‐dependent pathway, influencing microbiota. Consequently, could serve potential dietary supplement for prevention treatment neurodegenerative diseases.

This narrative review provides an overview of current knowledge on the impact nutritional strategies chronic craniofacial pain associated with temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). Individuals experiencing painful TMDs alter their dietary habits, avoiding certain foods, possibly due to chewing difficulties, which might lead nutrient deficiencies. Our literature investigation revealed that causal links between changes and remain unclear. However, clinical preclinical studies suggest nutraceuticals, including vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, omega-3 fatty acids, isoprenoids, carotenoids, lectins, polysaccharides, glucosamines, palmitoylethanolamides, could have beneficial effects managing TMDs. is described in 12 38 articles since 2000. Clinical discussed roles glucosamine, palmitoylethanolamides. The other nutraceuticals were assessed solely studies, using TMD models, mostly inflammatory rodents, 36 published 2013. indicates evidence insufficient assess efficacy these nutraceuticals. existing data potential for therapeutic intervention Further support from longitudinal randomized controlled well-designed investigations necessary evaluate each nutraceutical understand underlying mechanisms
