Chronic wounds pose a significant healthcare challenge, impairing the quality of life for millions affected individuals. This phenomenon escalates due to aging population and rising comorbidities. Traditional wound care methods often prove inadequate in dealing with complexities chronic wounds; therefore, biomaterials have emerged as promising solutions. In response this need, work focuses on development bilayered hybrid patch treatment wounds, designed chemical composition morphology exert antimicrobial activity combat local infection provide specific support cell adhesion tissue regeneration. particular, using gelatin chitosan main constituent materials, bioactive membranes were developed functionalized bioresorbable hydroxyapatite nanoparticles doped magnesium ions grown molecules boost regenerative stimuli. Then, they assembled into structure highly tuned structural features through different fabrication techniques biodegradation by cross-linking processes.
