Placental-derived products have been used since the early 1900s for wound applications and shown clinical utility in supporting healing. A hypothermically stored amniotic membrane (HSAM) was developed using a proprietary process to allow retention of extracellular matrix (ECM), viable cells, key proteins. To evaluate its utility, we characterized HSAM compared it native unprocessed (uAM) dehydrated (dAM), as well assessing functionality scaffold promote cell growth. The HSAM, uAM, dAM were scanning electron microscopy (SEM), histology, thickness. Scaffold durability assessed vitro mechanical testing simulated fluid (SWF) model. ability act evaluated an attachment showed similar structural characteristics uAM; however, significantly more compact. There no significant differences between uAM following degradation SWF ECM- placental-related proteins shared enhanced proliferation fibroblasts vitro. is substantially by retaining regulatory proteins, resisting SWF, acting cellular growth invasion.

The photo-activated thermo/gas antimicrobial nanocomposite hydrogel, Gel/PDA@BNN6, is composed of the nitric oxide (NO) carrier N, N'-di-sec-butyl-N, N'-dinitroso-p-phenylenediamine (BNN6), photothermal (PTT) material polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs), and methacrylate gelatin (GelMA). This hydrogel can release NO gas in a stable controlled manner, generating localized effect when exposed to near-infrared laser light. dual action promotes healing full-thickness skin wounds that are infected.
