Selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) attract considerable attention for their promising applications in the biomedical field, driven by unique properties and antioxidant activities. However, practical use is often hindered issues such as instability aggregation. In this study, a polysaccharide, P2, extracted from Ononis natrix, was used to stabilize SeNPs address these limitations. P2-SeNPs were prepared through green synthesis method involving sodium selenite, ascorbic acid, characterized dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD). exhibited smaller particle size enhanced stability compared unmodified SeNPs. UV-Vis spectroscopy photoelectron (XPS) demonstrated presence of Se–O bonds, suggesting effective stabilization covalent bonding between P2. Stability tests revealed that maintained good dispersion under various conditions, with optimal observed at refrigerated temperatures neutral pH. Moreover, better activities than SeNPs, evidenced higher DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS metal chelation ratios. This difference attributed both reduced aggregation P2-SeNPs. Therefore, it concluded exhibit significant potential an agent applications.
