To investigate the structure-antioxidant activity relationship, Pleurotus ferulae polysaccharides were extracted using ultrasonic (U-PFPS) and microwave/ultrasonic-assisted methods (MU-PFPS). Compared to U-PFPS with a molecular weight of 1.566 × 103 kDa, MU-PFPS exhibited lower 89.26 kDa. In addition, unlike U-PFPS, which is primarily composed glucose (Glu:Man:Gal = 91.1:3.5:5.4), has more balanced composition Glu:Man:Gal in ratio 39.4:27.8:32.8 contains branched chains. Furthermore, antioxidant analysis revealed that high concentration (at concentrations above 600 μg/mL) demonstrated stronger protective effects against oxidative damage RAW264.7 cells than did. Collectively, these data suggest higher branching degree at appropriate may correlate enhanced enzyme activities. Our work provides method for isolating offers insights into structure-activity relationship polysaccharides, laying foundation future applications polysaccharide modification structural characterization.

Polysaccharide-based hydrogels have emerged as indispensable materials in tissue engineering and wound healing, offering a unique combination of biocompatibility, biodegradability, structural versatility. Indeed, their three-dimensional polymeric network high water content closely resemble the natural extracellular matrix, creating microenvironment for cell growth, differentiation, regeneration. Moreover, intrinsic tunable chemical structure, non-toxicity, minimal immunogenicity make them optimal candidates prolonged drug delivery systems. Notwithstanding numerous advantages, these polysaccharide-based are confronted with setbacks such variability material qualities depending on source, susceptibility to microbial contamination, unregulated absorption, inadequate mechanical strength, unpredictable degradation patterns which limit efficacy real-world applications. This review summarizes recent advancements application hydrogels, including cellulose, starch, pectin, zein, dextran, pullulan hyaluronic acid innovative solutions delivery, engineering, regenerative medicine. Future research should concentrate optimizing hydrogel formulations enhance effectiveness medicine antimicrobial therapy.
