Background: The association between nuts and seeds (nuts/seeds) consumption abdominal aortic calcification (AAC) has been studied rarely, if at all. However, AAC is a good marker of CVD risk premature mortality. Consequently, the present observational study was conducted. It had two primary purposes: (1) to determine relationship nuts/seeds AAC, (2) examine effects nine potential confounding variables on AAC. Methods: sample included 2611 randomly selected adults representative United States population. Data were collected as part National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). outcome measure divided into three categories: none, mild, moderate/severe. Total assessed utilizing mean diet recall assessments. Results: There an inverse dose–response categories with age, sex, race controlled (F = 6.4, p 0.0233). After controlling for demographic physical activity, hypertension status, waist circumference, diabetes smoking, minimally affected 6.0, 0.0268). Conclusions: In conclusion, appears differentiate among different levels Control many covariates little impact associations. recommendations U.S. Dietary Guidelines (2020–2025) that encourage eating are supported by results this investigation.

Abstract Background Relative handgrip strength (RHGS) was positively correlated with healthy levels of cardiovascular markers and negatively metabolic disease risk. However, its association hyperlipidemia remains unknown. The present study investigated the link between RHGS hyperlipidemia, utilizing data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) further examined hypothesis that inflammation may serve a mediating role within this relationship. Methods Data were extracted 4610 participants in NHANES database spanning 2011–2014 to explore correlation using multivariate logistic regression models. Subgroup analyses conducted discern across diverse populations. Additionally, smooth curve fitting threshold effect analysis validate hyperlipidemia. Furthermore, potential on also explored. Results According fully adjusted model, [odds ratio (OR) = 0.575, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.515 0.643], which consistently significant all populations, notably among women. Smooth substantiated negative Moreover, effects indicated white blood cell (WBC) count, neutrophil (Neu) lymphocyte (Lym) count played roles as mediators, mediation ratios 7.0%, 4.3%, 5.0%, respectively. Conclusions This identified prominent Elevated protective factor against potentially through mechanisms underlying modulation inflammatory processes.

Osteoporotic fractures are a major public health concern, particularly among the aging population, as they significantly contribute to morbidity, mortality, and reduced quality of life. While cardiovascular (CVH) has traditionally been linked disease outcomes, emerging evidence suggests it may also influence bone health. This study investigates association between CVH, measured by Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score, prevalence osteoporotic in U.S. adults. cross-sectional utilized data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005 2018. A total 17,606 adults aged 20 above were included analysis after excluding participants with missing on CVH or fractures. was assessed using LE8 which incorporates eight modifiable metrics: diet, physical activity, tobacco use, sleep, body mass index (BMI), lipid levels, blood glucose, pressure. The primary outcome, fractures, identified through self-reported confirmed physician. Weighted multivariate logistic regression models used estimate adjusting for demographic health-related covariates. Participants higher scores had lower In fully adjusted model, each 1-point increase score associated 1% reduction odds (OR = 0.99, 95% CI: 0.98–0.99). Compared low those moderate 22% 0.78, CI 0.70–0.87), high 34% 0.66, 0.56–0.79). significant linear trend observed across different levels (P < 0.001). Subgroup analyses revealed that inverse relationship consistent subgroups. highlights These findings suggest maintaining level health, be important reducing risk Public strategies integrate interventions enhance overall outcomes reduce societal burden both diseases osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis represents a significant public health issue, impacting both outcomes and economic costs. This research investigates how cardiovascular health, as indicated by the LE8 score, correlates with bone mineral density (BMD). Data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2011 to 2018 were analyzed in this cross-sectional analysis, including 9018 subjects following exclusion of individuals lacking BMD or data. The comprising factors such diet, physical activity, smoking status, sleep quality, body mass index, lipid profiles, blood glucose, pressure, was used evaluate health. determined through dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Relationships between scores at femoral neck assessed using linear regression smooth curve fitting techniques. Enhanced linked improved neck. Notably, 10-point increment score associated rise 0.04 g/cm² [β = 0.04, 95% CI: 0.03–0.05]. data indicate strong positive association measured LE8, BMD. These results support development holistic strategies that promote potentially improve density.
