Spatiotemporal Evolution of Urban Shrinkage and Its Impact on Urban Resilience in Three Provinces of Northeast China

Currently, Chinese cities are experiencing both overall growth and localized shrinkage. Therefore, it becomes crucial to quantify urban shrinkage explore the transformation sustainable development of shrinking from perspective resilience. This study focuses on three provinces Northeast China, which representative areas shrinkage, as its research subjects. Employing analytic hierarchy process, a comprehensive evaluation system for is constructed based dimensions: population, economy, space. Furthermore, resilience scientifically measured four aspects: society, ecology, infrastructure. The analyzes spatiotemporal evolution characteristics in northeastern 2012 2018. It also examines impact through regression analysis mediation models. results indicate following: (1) Half experienced although extent decreased with implementation China revitalization strategy. Population-related was most extensive continued expand, while economy-related severe, space-related least severe. (2) lower than average level. Population-shrinking economy-shrinking exhibited low levels economic resilience, gap between them widen. Impact of digital device utilization on public health surveillance to enhance city resilience during the public health emergency response: A case study of SARS-CoV-2 response in Thailand (2020–2023)

Objective This study aims to examine the impact of digital devices on public health surveillance, surveillance resilient cities, and cities. Methods Questionnaires were issued residents Thailand during severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 response (2020–2023). In total, 1025 valid responses recorded from Thai nationals expatriates. Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory structural equation modeling used assess model through IBM SPSS 23 AMOS 23. Results Digital have a strong positive direct effect ( β = 0.73, p ≤ .001), has cities 0.79, low moderate indirect 0.13, .001, 0.58, respectively). The use in data collection, dissemination, positively impacted considering five dimensions: medical vaccine, individual, care, epidemiological, disease. Meanwhile, using resilience three socioeconomic, institutional, living. causal relationship device utilization enhancing met all necessary criteria: X / df 2.802, comparative fit index 0.953, goodness 0.901, normed 0.935, Tucker–Lewis root mean square approximation 0.048, residual 0.043. indicates fits empirical data. Conclusion are vital tools collecting, analyzing, disseminating surveillance-related emergency. This, turn, can improve disease also enhance cities’ living resilience.

Exploring contextual influences in collaboration: A sensemaking perspective

Abstract Almost all existing models explaining collaborative actions focus on the interactive dynamics among collaborators. While these are thought to be influenced by external contextual forces, there is little theory or empirical work documenting this relationship. Employing a unique and comprehensive database of 890 tensions, we adopt sensemaking approach explore role fast‐evolving ambiguous context in governance.
