When compounded by climate change, ecosystem degradation puts coastal communities at increased vulnerability to hazards. However, there have been few quantitative assessments of multiple hazards that synthesize scenarios and ecological demographic characteristics inform adaptive strategies. This study presents such a framework for assessing sea level rise, storm waves winds under present future scenarios. As case study, we applied it Macao, one the most densely populated highly urbanized area in world. We found 19% coastline hosting 349,000 people – distributed primarily along Macao Peninsula coast are exposed present. Almost half Macao's total with about 121,000 protected natural habitats. The proportion highly-exposed was estimated double, highly-threatened population increase 26.9–44.1%, 2100. Our findings provide insights into spatiotemporal heterogeneity highlight role played habitats shielding communities. results can prioritizing areas conservative strategies, thereby minimizing deleterious development pressures enhancing resilience

This research aimed to establish the legitimacy of protecting coastal residents from a social justice perspective. was normative legal conducted following cases, statutes, facts, and comparisons. The results this study show how important it is prioritize equity for protection. As natural calamities become more frequent, property protection becomes difficult. Countries endowed with substantial financial human resources can effectively tackle challenges associated climate change mitigation through development establishment state-of-the-art scientific technological infrastructure. In multicultural justice, all individuals are valued. Priorities environmental prevalent in developing nations afflicted by ecological degradation widening income gaps. Developed like Germany have implemented enforced policies uphold principles. Second, community-led governance initiatives generated genuine participation mutual aid. Environmental law advances cause justice. which emphasizes distribution preservation vulnerable groups, has emerged as essence age.

Coastal communities are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. This study aimed review impact land use change and mangrove degradation on coastal areas analyze problems strategies management in Indonesia. Journal data sources were obtained from Scopus Google Scholar databases. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method was used study. results indicate that economic activities such as mining, industry, ponds main cause damage, which turn leads increased disasters, CO2 emissions, decreased community income. To address this issue, take into account social, economic, environmental factors necessary. Successful restoration requires inclusion, capacity, budgeting, stakeholder involvement. Government policies regulating sustainable spatial planning, law enforcement, institutional frameworks crucial components management. study's expected serve foundation developing enhance safety disasters improve their welfare.

Communities along the Volta estuary of Ghana remain vulnerable to perennial tidal wave attacks, coastal erosion, and flooding because increasing sea level rise from climate change. Using both qualitative quantitative methods, community knowledge, perceptions on disasters disaster risks were explored. We also investigated perceived factors contributing increase disasters, how communities' knowledge informed their preparedness response disasters. Focus group discussions, key informant interviews households survey conducted in nine selected communities two adjoining districts located immediate east west estuary. Results indicated that knowledgeable about change-related occurring districts. A z-test respondents' environmental threats revealed significant variations between With much experience, able tell when a weather phenomenon could be disastrous. Households over years have devised various strategies predict, cope with reduce effects Some for predicting occurrence included watching size position moon, for, listening chirps certain birds observing patterns presented by clouds sky. Other coping include reliance social capital support society as well migrating out study areas. Overall, 53.5 % interviewed confirmed one (1) four (4) members had migrated other places outside country. The concluded disaster-prone areas good environment should therefore collaborated impact stated Sendai Framework.
