People with disabilities are a group at high risk during disaster, due to limited abilities and access the physical environment, information communication in community. The purpose of this study was determine level preparedness students teachers as well facilities Special School Banda Aceh towards earthquake tsunami disasters. Data collected using observation survey methods standardized questionnaire developed by IIS-UNESCO/ISDR, then processed index analysis. results research on student were ready category, while teacher showed very parameters: knowledge attitude emergency response plan disaster warning system resource mobilization. Abstract This study aimed to adapt and validate the Disaster Resilience Scale, originally developed by Becker et al. revised Paton al., for assessing disaster resilience within Turkish school community with a focus on Community Engagement Theory. theory emphasizes role of involvement in at various levels, including individual, community, societal/institutional. The was conducted two phases. In first phase, data from 428 teachers were analyzed assess validity reliability scale's version its alignment dimensions. second 1,422 used further verify using Generalizability Theory test, confirm through confirmatory factor analysis. results confirmed that scale, 12 factors 52 items valid reliable. Cronbach's Alpha coefficients dimensions ranged 0.80 0.91, indicating high reliability. findings highlight practical implications adapting DRS enhancing communities underscore importance engagement preparedness education.
