Orange
peel
biochar
(C)-supported
cadmium
sulfide
composites
(CdS-C)
were
prepared
by
the
combination
of
hydrothermal
and
calcination
methods.
The
structure
morphology
characterized
in
detail
X-ray
diffraction
(XRD)
scanning
electron
microscopy
(SEM),
respectively.
CdS-C
composite
with
60%
CdS
exhibited
highest
photocatalytic
hydrogen
production
rate
7.8
mmol·g−1·h−1,
approximately
3.69
times
higher
than
that
synthesized
without
biochar.
These
results
indicate
derived
from
orange
could
be
a
low-cost,
renewable,
environmentally
friendly,
metal-free
co-catalyst
for
CdS,
enhancing
its
photostability.
