Africa faces a significant energy crisis, with over 600 million people lacking access to affordable and reliable power meet their demands, despite the continent's vast solar potential. Several studies have indicated high potential of water heaters (SWH) in various African countries due enormous resource. However, diffusion use same Africa, especially West sub-region, been very slow compared other sub-regions. This study thus assesses barriers that affect adoption SWH systems using Delphi method Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process prioritize rank them for decision-making. The identified five main prioritized order financing, gender, market-related (51 %), political, policy, regulatory (19 technical (14 socio-cultural public awareness (11 as well lack standardization quality assurance (6 %). cost finance difficulties accessing prevent private sector investment, which ultimately affects large-scale system sub-region. Also, uneducated section educated do not fully appreciate merits system. paper is expected inform academics, practitioners, regulators on future efforts adopt technologies improve policies strategies across continent.
