With resource depletion, the integrated utilization of low-grade rare-earth ores has garnered widespread focus. However, conventional beneficiation processes are unable to efficiently recover valuable components. This study provides a mineral phase transformation (MPT) strategy enhance separation by amplifying magnetic contrast between bastnaesite and iron minerals. Roasting was conducted on single bastnaesite, bastnaesite-hematite mixed minerals, Bayan Obo polymetallic ore (BOLPO). The effect MPT subsequent flotation explored. Relevant analytical tests were employed examine surface property changes during MPT, elucidating behavior products. results showed that improved contrast, yielding favorable indices for iron. Furthermore, products recovered using benzohydroxamic acid (BHA). For BOLPO, produced concentrate with 61.69% grade 84.24% recovery, while open-circuit yielded 60.46% REO 50.78% recovery. During experienced oxidation decomposition, cerium reduction, reoxidation, forming roasting Ce7O12 CeF3. Ce(IV) partially reduced Ce(III), performance reduction affected oxygen vacancies specific area. Oxygen increased hydrophilicity BHA consumption. Conversely, decreased area enhanced hydrophobicity, lowering depletion. In adsorption filled vacancies, further declining insights into comprehensive ores.
