Hydrogen production via water electrolysis and renewable electricity is expected to play a pivotal role as an energy carrier in the transition. This fuel emerges most environmentally sustainable vector for non-electric applications devoid of CO2 emissions. However, electrolyzer’s infrastructure relies on scarce energy-intensive metals such platinum, palladium, iridium (PGM), silicon, rare earth elements, silver. Under this context, paper explores exergy cost, i.e., destroyed obtain one kW hydrogen. We disaggregated it into non-renewable contributions assess its renewability. analyzed four types electrolyzers, alkaline (AWE), proton exchange membrane (PEM), solid oxide cells (SOEC), anion (AEM), several cost scenarios based different technologies, namely hydro (HYD), wind (WIND), solar photovoltaic (PV), well International Energy Agency projections up 2050. Cryptocurrencies have gained global recognition, yet their rapid expansion is accompanied by significant environmental concerns due to energy-intensive operations. This study employs novel system thinking and dynamics approaches examine the impact of cryptocurrencies on energy use, water consumption, carbon emissions. The findings underscore negative resulting from cryptocurrency mining. According our results, in 2023, consumption emissions amounted 1859 × 106 m3 90.6 tons CO2e (0.25% CO2 emissions), respectively, linked 119.7 MWh electricity (0.5% consumption). To provide context, this volume could fulfill basic drinking sanitation needs a population that lacks access. Similarly, equates supplying country like Argentina, which has nearly 46 million. Without intervention, these figures are projected increase sixfold 2030. We recommend adoption renewable curtailment for Proof-of-Work Alternatively, technologies Pi network, based Stellar Consensus Protocol, offer sustainable energy-efficient solution.

Morocco contains one of the greatest phosphate deposits and is second-largest international fertilizer producer. However, it heavily relies on imported grey ammonia. To reduce this dependency, a paradigm shift required toward local green ammonia production to strengthen industry. The purpose study identify most promising locations in for hosting unit through land suitability analysis. This was carried out using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) geographical information systems (GIS). Eight relevant criteria were considered, based carefully studying literature consultation with renewable energy experts professionals. analysis revealed high five sites selected from regions Dakhla, Laayoune, Boujdour, Tarfaya. These introduced Hybrid Optimization Multiple Electric Renewables (HOMER) software 3.16.2 simulation. simulation findings showed that levelized cost hydrogen (LCOH) ranges 1.67 USD/kg 1.82 USD/kg, lowest LCOH at Dakhla. corresponding (LCOA) 646 USD/t 687 USD/t. Dakhla identified as location LCOA, accounting outcomes similar trend compared other studies (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran).
