Many industrialized countries in the Global North are looking at imported hydrogen from South to fuel their industries of 21 st century. Currently, most research on economy looks developed countries, but it remains unclear how a transition based may impact South. This paper examines three case studies projected front runners export, Egypt, Morocco, and Africa, explore risks opportunities such partnerships. The study is empirically review policy strategies project documents. analysis draws resource governance typology evaluate partnerships under development. Findings show that all face unique socioeconomic challenges could affect potential benefit export local decarbonization opportunities. article concludes with recommendations develop new collaborations avoid unintended consequences.
