We report on the first stage of an energy systems integration project to develop hybrid renewable generation and storage hydrogen for subsequent use via research-based low regret system testbeds. This study details design construction a flexible plug-and-play power testbed with up 50 kW capacity aimed at addressing benchmarking operational parameters as well key components when commissioned. The configuration includes three different solar technologies, battery two electrolyser storage, fuel cell regenerative power. Design constraints include current limit AC microgrid, regulations grid-connected inverters, connection inefficiencies, regulated hazardous area approval. identify show resolution challenges encountered during that may benefit planning emerging pilot, or testbed, configurations other sites. These offer opportunity informed decisions economic viability commercial-scale industry applications.
