A demanda cada vez maior por energia de origem petrolífera, tem causado grandes problemas ao meio ambiente e à saúde das pessoas, com a emissão gases tóxicos. Nesse cenário, os biocombustíveis se destacam como uma alternativa mais sustentável, que são obtidos do uso biomassas. Estas matérias-primas tratadas nas biorrefinarias, transformando em produtos grande valor industrial, no caso dos biocombustíveis. Atualmente, ocorrido um crescimento considerável dessas indústrias, o auxilia processo transição energética, mas ainda necessárias pesquisas proporcionem seu melhor desenvolvimento. Diante da importância presente trabalho teve objetivo trazer seus fundamentos, assim, fornecer base conceitual para leitor. metodologia utilizada trabalho, foi baseada consultas bases dados disponíveis na internet, Periódicos Capes, Google Acadêmico Scielo. Os resultados apresentam as principais definições, classificações processos industriais ocorrem mostrando potencial referência estudos futuros. Como considerações finais, concluiu-se embora essas indústrias estejam crescendo, conceitos amplos, diversas aplicações industriais, estão desenvolvimento, não apresentando única classificação literatura.

Hydrogen has emerged as a critical energy carrier for achieving global decarbonization and supporting sustainable future. This review explores key advancements in hydrogen production technologies, including electrolysis, biomass gasification, thermochemical processes, alongside innovations storage methods like metal hydrides liquid organic carriers (LOHCs). Despite its promise, challenges such high costs, scalability issues, safety concerns persist. Biomass gasification stands out dual benefits of waste management carbon neutrality yet hurdles feedstock variability efficiency need further attention. also identifies opportunities improvement, developing cost-effective catalysts hybrid systems, while emphasizing future research on improving tackling bottlenecks. By addressing these challenges, can play central role the transition to cleaner systems.

The escalating global awareness of climate change and the imminent depletion fossil fuel reserves have spurred an urgent search for sustainable energy alternatives eco-friendly chemical processes.
