Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, many people sought information from websites and social media. Understanding extent to which these sources were trusted is important in relation health communication. Objective This study aims identify key factors influencing UK citizens’ trust intention act on advice about found via digital resources test whether an existing model of eHealth provided a good fit for COVID-19–related seeking online. We also wished any differences between evaluation general relating specifically vaccines. Methods In total, 525 completed online survey January 2022 encompassing web questionnaire, measures corroboration, coping perceptions, act. Data analyzed using principal component analysis structural equation modeling. The responses vaccine compared. Results revealed 5 factors: (1) credibility impartiality, (2) familiarity, (3) privacy, (4) usability, (5) personal experiences. final modeling model, had significant direct effect (β=.65; P<.001). Of factors, impartiality positive (β=.82; People searching vaccination felt less at risk, anxious, more optimistic after reading information. noted that most “official” sources. Finally, context COVID-19, “credibility impartiality” remain predictor resources, but comparison with previous models information, checking corroborating did not form part evaluations. Conclusions times uncertainty, when faced global emergent concern, place their familiar rely perceived those above other factors.

Online games are popular technology-enabled applications designed to satisfy a wide range of player needs. Self-determination theory (SDT) has been used in past online game studies explain satisfaction, but it is rarely examine design as trigger for which reveals research gap. This gap keeps makers the dark about that effectively players, throwing gamers' ongoing usage into doubt. Aiming fill this gap, we proposed three new elements and examined their impacts on continuance, usage. We followed 546 participants who responded our survey permitted us collect system-captured data, generating two-wave two-source data. found achievability immersibility players. Competence satisfaction autonomy satisfaction—but not relatedness satisfaction—are characteristics secure players' continuance actual Two replication were conducted further verify these findings. Our study extends SDT backward game-contextualized triggers satisfaction. These theorized showcase system design, theoretically clarifying means using games, providing practical insights guide securing

The current research investigates the determinants of information avoidance in use mobile social applications (apps) from a comparison perspective. It specifically examines how cognitive dissonance, emotional exhaustion, and gender differences shape process, ultimately leading to avoidance. An online survey with 458 app users was conducted collect data. Structural equation modeling partial least squares (PLS-SEM) employed empirically test our proposed model. findings indicate that serves as significant source dissonance which turn lead within apps. Furthermore, positively moderate relationship between effect being stronger for women than men. This study enhances understanding through lens by examining both dimensions. Additionally, it analyzes comparison, providing more comprehensive view men engage are affected processes.

Objective WeChat serves as a crucial source of health information, distinguished by its highly personalized nature. Avoidance such information has direct impact on individuals’ decision-making. This study aims to identify the factors influencing avoidance and construct hierarchical framework illustrating relationships among these factors. Methods A hybrid method was utilized. Semi-structured interviews grounded theory were used The interpretive structural modeling (ISM) adopted develop model identified factors, followed matrice d'impacts croises-multiplication appliqué un classemen (MICMAC) analyze dependence driving power each factor. Results 20 predictors broadly categorized into three groups: personal, informational, social These collectively form three-tier explanatory framework, consisting top, middle bottom layers. At root layer, characteristics cognition exerted strong force, while negative emotions affective at top layer showed high degree dependence. In contrast, decision-making cognition, informational in exhibited relatively weaker force power. Conclusion bridged research gap providing new insights targeting behavior WeChat. The study aims at measuring and validating the stimulus organism response (SOR) theory among health consumers, as well identifying factors that predict information avoidance behavior its relationship to risk behaviors. A cross-sectional survey design was employed collect data from who have either recently used services or are likely do so in future. An eight-factor (information overload, perception, social stigma, anxiety, sadness, cognitive dissonance, avoidance, behavior) measurement model measure behavior. tested using structural equation modelling (SEM). findings show is associated with engaging risky Information overload perception both found increase anxiety significantly, which, turn, drives consumers avoid seeking processing information. Our suggests literacy sessions can play an important role helping navigate manage effectively seek out reliable This extends SOR by demonstrating applicability public consequences for health. By contributing this research inform development of more effective communication strategies.

Abstract Background Technological challenges in accessing medical care services may cause individuals to feel isolated from the system. This study posits that individual’s subjective socioeconomic status (SES) contribute differing levels of technological when seeking services, subsequently impacting their health conditions. Methods A questionnaire survey was administered 1,932 residents China (1,037 men, 891 women, and 4 missing; M age : 64.28 ± 11.30 years, range: 45–99 years). Participants included 792 urban (40.99%) 1,140 rural (59.01%) residents. We measured SES, perceptions, conditions, other control variables. Results Analysis 10,000 bootstrapped samples revealed partially mediate association between SES Moreover, people with low had poorer because challenges. effect not significant for after controlling sex, age, education level, marital status, experience services. Conclusions significantly negatively impacted individuals’ especially residents, owing provides evidence insights into nexus policy formulation, modern technology, public perceptions regarding shortcomings risks policies.

Due to accelerated urbanization, modern urban residents are facing increasing life pressures. Many citizens experiencing situational aversion in daily commuting, and the deterioration traffic environment has led psychological distress of varying degrees among dwellers. Cyclists, who account for about 7% commuters, lack a sense belonging space experience significant deficiencies corresponding infrastructure, which causes more people face barriers choosing cycling as mode transportation. To address aforementioned issues, this study proposes bionic intelligent interaction helmet (BIIH) designed validated based on principles bionics, undergone morphological design structural validation. Constructed around STM32-embedded development board, BIIH is an integrated smart engineered perceive environmental conditions enable both human–machine interactions environment–machine interactions. The system incorporates array sophisticated electronic components, including temperature humidity sensors; ultrasonic ambient light voice recognition modules; cooling fans; LED indicators; OLED displays. Additionally, device equipped with mobile power supply, enhancing its portability ensuring operational efficacy under dynamic conditions. Compared conventional helmets analogous purposes, offers four distinct advantages. Firstly, it enhances wearer’s perception, thereby improving safety during operation. Secondly, real-time function that optimizes while mitigating stress. Thirdly, through principles, exhibits increased specific stiffness, integrity. Finally, device’s storage capabilities render portable, autonomous, adaptable, facilitating iterative improvements fostering self-sustained development. Collectively, these features establish methodological technical foundation exploring novel research scenarios prospective applications.
