The wave equation revealing the propagation in chiral phononic crystals, established through force equilibrium law, conceals underlying physical information, such as essence of motion coupling and inertial amplification effect. This has led to a controversy over bandgap mechanism. In this article, we theoretically unveil reason for controversy, put forward an alternative approach from behavior formulate equation, offering pathway articulate physics directly. Based on revealed by our theory method, identify obstacles coupled acoustic optic branches widen lower bandgap. Then introduce based spherical hinges decrease barriers, customizing frequency width. Finally, validate proposal numerical simulation experimental demonstration. crystals reveals only branches, hiding complexity physics. method proposed paper allows direct observation essential physics, enables decouple manipulation band gaps.
