The interference among risers has always been a research focus within marine engineering. By riser, we mean the equipment that transports oil, gas, and other fluid media in environments, connecting offshore platform subsea wellhead. “unbonded composite riser-smooth riser” serves as object of this paper, which experimentally investigates riser group vibration with multi-spacings. This study reveals mechanism interlayer slip by reviewing dynamic response unbonded various arrangements. results indicate increasing displacement side-by-side is subjected to internal cable at high flow velocities. rate peaks, particularly S/D = 4 (S/D spacing ratio, where S represents distance between axis two D outer diameter riser). contrast, changes ratio have little influence on dominant frequency. strong energy dissipation capacity mass-damping efficiently decrease caused forces. Side-by-side occur delayed “lock-in” region opposed smooth under same conditions. Furthermore, wake clearance maximum difference up 5 times greater average value rate.

In order to investigate the effects of top-end dynamic boundary risers caused by floater motions on their vortex-induced vibration (VIV) characteristics, a combined model comprising buoyancy can with relatively simple structural form and riser is taken as research object in present study. The aspect ratios are 5.37 250, respectively. A set experimental devices designed support VIV test stimulating motion (VIM) under different uniform flow regular wave conditions. Several data processing methods applied test, i.e., mode superposition, Euler angle conversion, band pass filter, fast Fourier transform, wavelet transform. Based testing results, effect low-frequency VIM high-frequency discussed relation single current, wave, current. It found that coupling presents certain orthogonal features at low current velocities. cross-flow component far more prominent than its counterpart, in-line VIM, increasing velocity. wave–current condition significantly enhances modulation amplitude frequency, resulting larger fluctuation peaks response further risk fatigue.
