The role of tumor microenvironment in invasive breast cancer prognosis and treatment is highly appreciated. With the advent immunotherapy, immunophenotypic characterization primary tumors gaining attention as it can improve patient stratification. Here, we discuss benefits spatial analysis employing double multiplex immunostaining, allowing simultaneous detection more than one protein on same tissue section, which turn helps us provide functional insight into infiltrating immune cells within tumors. We focus studies demonstrating prognostic predictive impact distinct tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte subpopulations including different CD8(+) T subsets well CD4(+) tumor-associated macrophages carcinoma. clinical value cell topography also further refer to how integration digital pathology artificial intelligence routine practice could enhance accuracy immunostainings evaluation microenvironment, maximizing our perception host response improvement turning decision-making towards precise immune-associated therapies.
