ABSTRACT The immune microenvironment includes cells, cytokines, extracellular matrix, vesicles, etc. interactions between these components form a unique local microecology. Although immunity serves as the defense against external pathogens, aberrant activation often contributes to disease development. Chronic diseases, broad category of noncommunicable conditions characterized by long latency and prolonged course, are increasingly recognized for their intricate relationship with microenvironment. Herein, we comprehensively summarize how microenvironment, through its complex regulatory network, influences progression manifestation chronic diseases. We further explore potential targeting therapeutic strategy, aiming provide new insights directions prevention, diagnosis, treatment
