Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death driven by lipid peroxidation (LPO), has emerged as a critical player in intestinal health and disease. The gut microbiota, through metabolic activity, generate bioactive metabolites that influence host physiology, including the regulation ferroptosis. Recent studies have highlighted pivotal role microbiota-derived sustaining homeostasis. Although human body evolved natural mechanisms, such ferroptosis, to maintain equilibrium, elucidating contribution this process remains area research. This Review systematically examines molecular mechanisms underlying interplay between microbial ferroptotic pathways, implications for disorders. Furthermore, it explores innovative therapeutic strategies targeting metabolite-ferroptosis interactions. By synthesizing current evidence, work aims advance development microbiota-centric therapies ferroptosis-related pathologies, bridging mechanistic insights with translational potential.
