ABSTRACT Herein, a kind of N‐doped fluorescent carbon dots (N‐CDs) were prepared by using melamine and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as precursors through straightforward hydrothermal method. The designed sensor displayed uniform nanoscale distribution, excellent hydrophilicity, strong fluorescence emission with quantum yield 37.98%. Moreover, the N‐CDs could be utilized for Fe 3+ detection “On–Off” transition via mechanism internal filtration effect (IFE) static quenching process. Two good linear relationships within concentrations from 10 to 100μM 100 500 μM obtained, which indicated that quantitative analysis calculated limit (LOD) was 0.510 (3σ/slope). Additionally, used in solid phase based on strategy, is promising anticounterfeiting application.

The need for eco-friendly, cost-effective, and scalable methods to synthesize carbon quantum dots (CQDs) remains a critical goal in nanotechnology. In this work, nitrogen-doped (N-CQDs) were successfully synthesized using cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) derived from microcrystalline (MCC) urea through rapid one-step microwave-assisted method. use of renewable as precursor aligns with sustainable practices, offering pathway transform agricultural waste into valuable nanomaterials. Characterized by TEM, XRD, Raman, XPS, PL spectroscopy, the N-CQDs demonstrated outstanding optical properties, including strong excitation-dependent fluorescence an emission maximum at 420 nm. exhibited exceptional selectivity sensitivity toward Fe3+, achieving detection limit 75 nM. Additionally, pH-dependent stability diverse conditions highlight N-CQDs’ versatility environmental monitoring. This study establishes foundation produce high-performance nanostructures sensing applications, advancing green nanotechnology solutions.
