Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease linked to gut microbiome dysbiosis. However, the mechanisms underlying changes caused by dietary habits in psoriasis remain unclear. We performed a case-control study including 64 patients and age-, sex-, body mass index (BMI)-matched controls. Stool samples were collected for metagenomics sequencing. The differential abundance analysis was identify differentially abundant taxa between control groups. intake frequency information of each included subject obtained through face-to-face interviews. Mediation used potential mediators alterations psoriasis. significantly alterated when compared Anaerostipes Hadrus, Blautia Wexlerae, other six species may be beneficial Prevotella Copri Eggerthellaceae could pathogenic bacteria. also identified correlations specific psoriasis, with largest correlation observed poultry consumption (OR=0.735, P=0.001), followed red meat (OR=0.784, P=0.007) fresh vegetables (OR=0.794, P=0.028). revealed that hadrus, Dorea longicatena, Eggerthella lenta mediated association characteristics intestinal flora different from Intestinal diet some extent. This provides new insights adjuvant treatments microbiota interventions.

Background: Psoriasis is a prevalent and persistent inflammatory disorder with systemic manifestations. Emerging evidence implicates the gut microbiota in regulating responses, metabolic pathways, immune homeostasis. This review synthesizes current on dysbiosis psoriasis evaluates therapeutic potential of probiotics fecal transplantation (FMT) disease management. Method: Following PRISMA guidelines, we systematically reviewed studies investigating microbiome profiles through MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web Science databases (January 2015-December 2024). Included utilized 16S rRNA gene sequencing or metagenomic analyses for microbial characterization. Results: Comparative revealed distinct patterns patients compared healthy controls, although specific signatures exhibited inconsistencies across studies. Notably, interventions modulating composition-particularly probiotic supplementation-demonstrated measurable improvements severity scores markers. Conclusions: Gut modulation represents promising strategy psoriasis; however, highlights need standardized analysis methodologies larger longitudinal to establish causality. Future research should prioritize functional characterization microbiota-host interactions optimize applications.

Rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and psoriatic (PsA) are chronic autoimmune disorders characterized by persistent inflammation oxidative stress, leading to joint damage reduced quality of life. In recent years, increasing attention has been given diet a modifiable environmental factor that can complement pharmacological therapy. This review summarizes current evidence on how key dietary components—such omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, polyphenols, antioxidant vitamins—affect inflammatory pathways balance. Special emphasis is placed the Mediterranean diet, low-starch diets, hypocaloric regimens, which have shown potential in improving disease activity. The gut microbiota emerges critical mediator between immune function, with interventions capable restoring eubiosis strengthening intestinal barrier. Additionally, this paper discusses challenges clinical implementation therapy, need for personalized nutritional strategies, importance integrating into holistic patient care. Collectively, findings suggest may reduce activity, mitigate systemic inflammation, enhance patients’ overall well-being.
