Abstract Objective : To validate a version of the Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) adapted to Brazilian Portuguese, and evaluate level mental health literacy in sample population. Methods We applied Portuguese MHLS 472 adults. administered questionnaire presence interviewers. use nonparametric tests compare scores. Using confirmatory factor analysis, we tested hypothesis unidimensionality MHLS. The structure that best fit was extracted through exploratory analysis. Results results showed model with single-factor did not present good fit. adaptation displayed four-factor structure, comprising 18 items. This demonstrated satisfactory loadings high levels reliability. These characteristics suggest tool maintains internal consistency reliability, can be used assess effectively. average score 123.01. value varies depending on gender, age, education, and type service used. Conclusion has been effective gauging among Brazilians. Future efforts enhance should focus middleaged people lower education who utilize public services.

Stereotypes toward symptom presentations of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) are poorly understood. A mixed-methods, multistudy analysis OCD stigma was conducted. In Study 1 ( N = 60), participants read one five vignettes (symmetry/just right, contamination, sexual, harm/aggression, scrupulous OCD) before responding to open-ended questions. Inductive content analyses revealed anxiety-relevant stereotypes (e.g., trivialization) for symmetry/just right and contamination serious mental-illness dangerous) harm/aggression sexual vignettes. 2 698), seven (OCD-symptom presentations, generalized anxiety disorder, schizophrenia) measures. The schizophrenia were strongly associated with stigma. vignette the most Together, these studies detail stereotype endorsement across OCD-symptom presentations. Stigma-reduction interventions should include psychoeducation address macro-level (i.e., that exist presentations) while enhancing opportunities contact mitigate

Abstract Despite effective treatment options, people who experience mental health conditions often do not receive needed care. E-mental health, for instance the use of mobile apps, is emerging as a way to increase access and extend However, little formal training available digital literacy level among behavioral healthcare providers (BHPs), seeking employ such technology. The purpose this study was explore acceptability usability an adapted in-person Digital Navigation Training (DNT) curriculum into e-Learning modules focused on integrated environment BHPs. BHP confidence serve navigators also explored. E-Learning were from existing DNT. A purposeful sampling strategy used recruit BHPs (n = 8) complete modules. Acceptability, usability, assessed via survey semi-structured interviews. Descriptive statistics calculated data qualitative analyzed using directed content analysis approach. completed felt usable, enjoyed structure, amount time acceptable. All participants thought structure worked well learning new information. While participants’ in their navigation skills increased, they desired more information and/or with screening apps prior increasing within acceptable method educating skills. Future research incentives along if participating these can quality augment care plans.

Abstract Background To improve access to mental health care for children and adolescents, it is necessary identify the barriers faced by their caregivers. The aim of this study these in Greece investigate reliability validity modified version Barriers Access Care Evaluation scale (BACE) - BACE Proxy Report (BACE-PR). Methods A total 265 caregivers completed BACE-PR. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Confirmatory (CFA) were used factor structure instrument. Item parameters assessed via Response Theory. Interpretability was linking summed scores IRT-based scores. Results Caregivers reported costs as major barrier access. Obsessive compulsive symptoms self-harm conditions which highest level barriers. EFA CFA suggested that a one-factor solution fit data well (RMSEA = 0.048, CFI 0.991, TLI 0.990). Internal consistency found be high (ω=0.96). Average z-scores provided five meaningful levels caregivers’ perceived compared national average. Conclusions face variety could partly explain treatment gap Greek sector. Our provides evidence BACE-PR scale, can aid caregiver-perceived design interventions care.

ABSTRACT Background Obsessive–compulsive (OC) disorder is a debilitating with high delay in help‐seeking that could be associated two barriers may differ between OC content dimensions: public stigma and mental health literacy. Objectives We aim to describe analyze the differences among dimensions stigma, social distance desire, literacy, intention sample of health‐naïve population. Methods A total 487 participants from Spanish community no previous knowledge or experience OCD were randomly allocated one six vignettes describing person symptoms out contents (i.e., aggression/harm; sexual; religious/blasphemous/immoral; contamination/washing; doubts/checking; superstition/symmetry/order). After reading vignette, completed following questionnaires their vignette: Attribution Questionnaire, General Help‐Seeking Social Distance Scale, Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire. Results There significant on variables interest. Aggression/harm was highest discriminating together religious/blasphemous/immoral desire. Although appear seek for formal treatment, would request less informal support sexual than other categories. Contamination, doubts/checking, superstition/symmetry/order more frequently identified as OCD, although only around 50% sexual, superstition/symmetry/order, problem. Conclusions Interventions reduce increase help seeking are necessary should consider heterogeneity.
