ABSTRACT Consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation and preventing recurrence are key priorities for China's future governance. This paper examines impact livelihood capital on vulnerability rural households to underlying mechanisms, using a framework. First, relationship between household is discussed theoretically, followed by empirical analysis based data from China Family Panel Study (CFPS) spanning 2012 2022. To address endogeneity concerns, average other with similar family structures within same village used as an instrumental variable testing. The results show that capital—particularly human, material, financial, social capital—has significant negative effect poverty. Heterogeneity reveals exerts stronger suppressive low‐income households, three or less members, those in western regions. Further indicates enhances households' risk‐bearing capacity, thereby reducing their Overall, findings suggest increasing capital, especially human material crucial households.

Financial resources play a crucial role in rural revitalization. Understanding the efficiency of financial support is essential for scientific and rational allocation these resources. Therefore, we conducted an assessment over period 2011–2020 utilizing three-stage DEA model Malmquist index to measure revitalization across 30 Chinese provinces (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Tibet) from both static dynamic perspectives. The results indicate following: (1) Despite overall downward trend, increased during specific intervals, namely 2012–2013, 2015–2016, 2018–2019. (2) Regionally, decline particularly notable northeast region. eastern central regions also experienced this trend lesser extent, whereas western region more moderate decrease.
