Purpose This paper aims to explore the relationship between digital transformation, international competition and productivity progress by examining dual margins of export, thereby identifying development pathway for key industrial chains within context regional medical health cooperation. Design/methodology/approach By constructing models incorporating both extensive margin intensive margin, this delves into reasons underlying changes in product trade value variety market competition. Utilizing export data products from China Belt Road Initiative partner countries spanning 2007 2020, an industry–destination–time panel benchmark model is established assess impact transformation on expansion Findings The findings reveal following insights. First, positively impacts products, whereas it does not exert a positive influence margin. Second, mechanism test indicates that fosters enhancing technical efficiency exports but exhibits inverted U-shaped effect technological progress.
