Music as a social instrument: a brief historical and conceptual perspective

This
article
addresses
the
origins
and
purpose
of
communal
music-making,
including
dance,
its
role
in
human
sociality.
It
accords
special
significance
to
adapted
nature
vocalization,
sensorimotor
discrimination
that
allows
prediction
then
generation
musically
relevant,
coordinated
simultaneous
movements.
Commencing
with
a
historical
survey
development
ideas
about
evolutionary
importance
music
social
behavior,
this
mini-review
sets
out
define
explore
key
issues
involved
an
explanation.
These
include:
acquisition

parameters
required
for
vocal
production
(synchronization
pitch,
timbre,
duration
loudness);

Background
Music
is
a
primary
source
of
pleasure
for
humans.
Nevertheless,
there
large
interindividual
variability
in
how
individuals
experience
and
derive
from
music
music-related
activities.
With
this
study
we
propose
validate
the
Italian
version
extended
Barcelona
Reward
Questionnaire
(eBMRQ),
most
in-depth
comprehensive
tool
investigating
diverse
characterization
individual
sensitivity
to
music.
In
addition,
aim
investigate
eBMRQ
scores
as
function
age,
gender,
musicianship
across
population.
Methods
For
validation
process
eBMRQ,
first
conducted
forward
backward
translation
original
English
version.
The

administered

participants
who
were
fluent

through
online
surveys

18–86
years
old;

Users
can
then
interact
chatbot

inquiries
about
analyses
performed
how
they
relate
taste.
This
interactivity
transforms
application,
acting
not
only
as
an
informative
resource
familiar
and/or
songs,
but
also
educational
platform
enables
deepen
understanding
features,
theory,
commonly
used
in
signal
processing,
behind
music.
Beyond
general
usability,
several
well-established
open-source
musician-specific
tools,
such
chord
recognition
algorithm
(CREMA),
source
separation
(DEMUCS),
audio-to-MIDI
converter
(basic-pitch).
These
allow
without
coding
skills
access
advanced,
processing
algorithms
simply
by
interacting
(e.g.,
you
give
me
stems
song?).
In
paper,
we
highlight
application's
innovative
potential,
present
findings

efficacy
