Abstract As urbanization increases, the demand for constructing nearby structures has risen, leading to a higher likelihood of adjacent buildings having different dynamic characteristics. This, in turn, increases probability structural impacts, which often result significant or partial damage. This paper proposes multiple elastoplastic-tuned mass damper systems (MPTMD) mitigate damage caused due seismic events. The system’s performance is evaluated regarding impact force and reduction Park-Ang index. For this purpose, two steel-framed buildings—one 6-story one 10-story—are modeled nonlinearly using OpenSees software, incorporating connection springs (concentrated plasticity) represent structures. After modeling structures, MPTMD system applied at stages control responses, between reduce optimized Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. optimization process calculates optimal placement parameters under objective functions: first function aims minimize index all while second focuses on reducing maximum results indicate that by optimally configuring with function, not only significantly reduces their stories but also substantially minimizes force, energy, kinetic drift stories, thereby improving overall performance.
