ABSTRACT Analysis of resting state fMRI (rs‐fMRI) typically excludes images substantially degraded by subject motion. However, data quality, including degree motion, relates to a broad set participant characteristics, particularly in pediatric neuroimaging. Consequently, when planning quality control (QC) procedures researchers must balance concerns against the possibility biasing results eliminating data. In order explore how researcher QC decisions might bias rs‐fMRI findings and inform future research design, we investigated spectrum characteristics Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study were related inclusion/exclusion across versions dataset (the ABCD Community Collection Release 4) choices (specifically, motion scrubbing thresholds). Across all these conditions, found that odds participant's exclusion behavioral, demographic, health‐related variables, with consequence analyses using variables are likely produce biased results. recommend missing be formally accounted for analyzing interpreting Our demonstrate urgent need better acquisition analysis techniques which minimize impact on quality. Additionally, strongly detailed information about open datasets such as ABCD.

Three-generation family studies of depression have established added risk psychopathology for offspring with 2 previous generations affected compared 1 or none. Because their rigorous methodology, there are few these studies, and existing limited by sample sizes. Consequently, the 3-generation paradigm in can be a critical neuropsychiatric tool if similar transmission patterns reliably demonstrated history method. To examine association multigenerational lifetime depressive disorders other children. In this analysis Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study data, retrospective, cross-sectional reports on psychiatric functioning among 11 200 children (generation 3 [G3]) parent parents' (G2) grandparents' (G1) histories were analyzed. The current study examines the measurement properties and validity of a novel, abbreviated youth version UPPS-P Impulsive Behavior Scale that was developed to maintain consistency with existing adult short form. Specifically, we examined this scale's (a) factor structure; (b) structural invariance across four demographic characteristics: gender, ethnicity, household income, parental education; (c) correlates using subset 4,521 preadolescent (9- 10-year old) children (53% male) from baseline wave Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, large, community-based sample. Our findings supported correlated 5-factor model, as well hierarchical model recaptured covariation among these 5 lower-order factors in three higher-order factors. Both models are consistent commonly observed structure adults. We established all characteristics. Finally, our scales evidenced good convergent discriminant broad swath theoretically relevant external criteria, including self- parent-reported personality psychopathology, lab-based neurocognitive tasks. indicate can assess multidimensional impulsivity reliably validly by means self-report, allowing assessment critical domain at early stages development. hope measure will facilitate large-scale samples begin understand evolution long-term consequences impulsivity. Abstract Objective To determine the prospective associations between contemporary screen time modalities in a nationally representative cohort of 9–10‐year‐old children and binge‐eating disorder at one‐year follow‐up. Method We analyzed data from Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study ( N = 11,025). Logistic regression analyses were conducted to estimate baseline child‐reported (exposure) parent‐reported based on Kiddie Schedule for Affective Disorders Schizophrenia (KSADS‐5, outcome) follow‐up, adjusting race/ethnicity, sex, household income, parent education, BMI percentile, site, disorder. Results Each additional hour total per day was prospectively associated with 1.11 higher odds 1‐year follow‐up (95% CI 1.05–1.18) after covariates. In particular, each social networking (aOR 1.62, 95% 1.18–2.22), texting 1.40, 1.08–1.82), watching/streaming television shows/movies 1.39, 1.14–1.69) significantly Discussion Clinicians should assess usage binge eating adolescents advise parents about potential risks excessive time.
