The aim of this review was to evaluate the feasibility treating sleep disorders using novel gut microbiota intervention strategies. Multiple factors can cause disorders, including an imbalance in microbiota. Studies microbiome-gut-brain axis have revealed bidirectional communication between central nervous system and microbes, providing a more comprehensive understanding mood behavioral regulatory patterns. Changes its metabolites stimulate endocrine, nervous, immune systems, which regulate release neurotransmitters alter activity system, ultimately leading disorders. Here, we main affecting sleep, discuss possible pathways molecular mechanisms interaction microbiota, compare common strategies aimed at improving physiology.

Background Insomnia, depression, anxiety, and stigma are prevalent often coexist in patients with Tuberculosis (TB), potentially exacerbating one another. However, the complex intrinsic associations among these four disorders remain unclear, particularly concerning role of relation to other disorders. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted at West China Hospital Fourth People’s Guangxi from November 2023 June 2024. The levels insomnia, TB were assessed using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), TB-Related Stigma Scale (TRSS). Network analysis used identify central bridge symptoms explore within insomnia-depression-anxiety-stigma network. Results PHQ1 (anhedonia), GAD1 (nervousness), GAD5 (restlessness), PHQ3 (sleep problems) Bridge symptoms, including problems), PSQI5 disturbances), (restlessness) link anxiety communities. TRSS1 (family’s negative perception) community exhibited highest betweenness second network, highlighting mediating family support across insomnia psychological symptoms. Additionally, global strength invariance test indicates that gender, age education level do not significantly impact network structure. Conclusion Depression (anhedonia sleep (nervousness restlessness) primary concerns requiring intervention patients. In addition, problems act as a overall Stigma, perceptions family, may play crucial sustaining entire symptom Consequently, could represent potential targets for intervention.

Introduction Sleep disturbances are prevalent among primary care patients, and psychological dysfunction, including stress, anxiety, depression, robust contributors to poor sleep health. Yet, the presence of potential protective characteristics, such as health self-efficacy engaging in adaptive behaviors, may mitigate outcomes. Gratitude (i.e., recognition appreciation experiences, relationships, surroundings), a positive cognitive-emotional characteristic, serve catalyst these beneficial downstream effects, given its association with improved functioning sleep. Methods In sample patients ( N = 869, M age 53; 60.7% female) from 50 urban 30 rural practices Germany, belief ability perform necessary actions manage health) constructive behaviors taken modify positively), separately together parallel first-order mediators, second-order were investigated serial mediators between gratitude disturbances. Participants completed self-report measures person online. Results Significant mediation was observed across models, although effects varied. first model, associated greater and, turn, less stress 1 d 21 b 4 −0.019, 95% CI [−0.039, −0.002], SE 0.010), anxiety 31 5 −0.026, [−0.045, −0.008], 0.009), depression 41 6 −0.020, [−0.040, −0.003], fewer consequent second −0.009, [−0.019, 0.004) −0.007, [−0.016, −0.001], 0.004), but not. final combined occurred on two pathways, [−0.046, −0.009], 51 7 [−0.037, specific indirect effect found for 2 −0.086, [−0.140, −0.030], 0.026), not self-efficacy. Discussion Overall, reduced through behavior engagement, via lower distress.
