The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on global mental health, particularly among adolescents. However, little is known about how health symptoms recover after the subsides. This study aims to examine recovery trajectories of ten problems and suicidal ideation Chinese adolescents post-pandemic, with focus identifying factors that influence different patterns.

Abstract Background Both depression and anxiety are worldwide burden that is not being abated with our current knowledge treatment of the condition. Numerous clinical trials have supported physical activity (PA) can reduce in adolescents, but little known about its mechanism action. Therefore, study objectives were to explore potential relationship between from perspective body image mass index (BMI), provide an important reference for future self-esteem education health promotion intervention. Methods The participants this 251 Chinese college students 17 22 years old. Participants completed International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), Body Image Questionnaire (BIQ), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) Anxiety (SAS). A descriptive correlational approach was used, using PROCESS macro Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS). Results (1) significantly negatively correlated both (t = -0.216, p < 0.001; t -0.184, 0.01). (2) had a significant moderating effect on among students, there no activity. BMI has two interrelationships. Conclusion There only moderates

Objectives The longitudinal associations between DSM-5 Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) and suicide-related ideation behaviors have not been explored. In this study, we therefore seek to examine the association baseline IGD incident suicide ideation, plans, attempts. Methods This is a prospective cohort study of 2586 Mexican college students followed up from September 2018 June 2022. We estimated hazards ratios modeling incidence attempts by fitting proportional Cox models with person-time scaled in years. Results Among 2140 without at baseline, there were 467 cases 3987.6 person-years; rates 179 per 1000 person-years among 114 those IGD. Incidence for plans 67 39 non-IGD students, 15 10 1000, respectively After controlling age, sex, mood, anxiety, substance use disorders, was associated an 83% increased risk ideation. Although rate estimates higher IGD, results statistically significant. Conclusions helps raise awareness least suicidal people experiencing Clinicians treating patients may encounter complaints over time, even reports behavior that should be disregarded. Identifying these treating/referring them underlying suicidality form part treatment.

Abstract Background Suicidal ideation is a depression symptom which represents key (cognitive) component of suicidality and plays an important role in suicide risk detection, intervention, prevention. Despite existing research showing the importance certain factors symptoms suicidal ideation, less known about interaction between various protective factors. The aim study was to examine whether living conditions characteristics personal circumstances during COVID-19 pandemic predicted presence among tertiary students resilience social support can mitigate detrimental effects difficult life circumstances. Method A large online cross-sectional conducted March 2021 4,645 Slovenian students. Hierarchical multiple regression hierarchical logistic methods were used assess compare effect variables, as opposed support, on ideation. Results Female gender, single relationship status, alone, higher degree household conflict, having history mental illness chronic disease diagnosis significant predictors scores. All but gender also Household conflict strongest both cases. On other hand, and, particular, proved be strong against After accounting for one’s explained variance scores more than doubled, while harmful significantly decreased. Conclusions findings stress explain why some people manage maintain well-being despite finding themselves circumstances, case many pandemic. These insights may inform preventive efforts developing design implementation interventions improving from childhood onward.

Abstract Background The COVID‐19 pandemic has led to a global mental health crisis, with increased rates of depression among adolescents, exacerbated by interventions such as social distancing and school closures. While widespread anti‐epidemic experiences may have strengthened cohesion improved adolescents' health, the long‐term impact on remains concern, particularly regarding suicide‐related behaviours. Method This study explored changes in behaviours adolescents depressive symptoms during pandemic. A cohort 4245 students aged 10–19 participated school‐based survey 2020, followed follow‐up 2021. Cross‐lagged panel analysis was used examine associations between symptoms, family functioning over time. Results Depressive from 2020 2021, significant rise mild (95% CI: 15.53%, 17.78%), whereas severe decreased 10.24%, 12.14%) ( p < .05). Suicide‐related behaviours, except suicidal plans, showed decreasing trend Significant correlations were found functioning, Conclusions some aspects adolescent improvement pandemic, remained strong predictor findings underscore importance addressing key risk factor for suicide highlight role mitigating these risks. Continued attention especially context prolonged pandemic‐related stressors, is essential.

Background There is an urgent need to understand explanatory factors of poor mental health before (pre-) and during (peri-) the COVID-19 pandemic in university students, especially those from underrepresented minority groups. Aims To examine potential differences for psychological distress, clinical risk impact problems on academic outcomes pre- peri-pandemic students. Method A repeated cross-sectional design was used with routine data between August 2018 July 2022 at registration stage a student counselling service UK university. Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were outcomes. Unadjusted adjusted linear regression models conducted assess Results total 9517 students had completed sociodemographic outcome included analysis. Psychological distress not significantly different Clinical higher pre-pandemic than group. Potential poorer being younger, female or non-binary/genderqueer, sexual minority, ethnic group, having home fee status disability registration. Conclusions Poor profiles related may have changed drastically peri-pandemic. Longitudinal methods intersectional approaches should be future research. Further understanding how universities services can most efficiently effectively support crucially warranted.

ABSTRACT Family functioning has been confirmed to predict adolescent suicidal ideation (SI). However, the relationships between specific dimensions of family and SI, as well related mediating mechanisms, remain unclear. Based on McMaster Model Functioning, this study aims examine bidirectional longitudinal affective responsiveness (i.e., a dimension functioning) SI intensity frequency, effects depressive symptoms in these among adolescents. A total 712 adolescents (55.8% females; M age = 15.20, SD 1.43) completed questionnaires were surveyed three times, six months apart. Using random intercept cross‐lagged panel model analysis, found that at within‐person level, influenced twelve later through later, both frequency later. The findings indicate temporal responsiveness, symptoms, exist may eventually develop into vicious cycles. Breaking cycles preventing deterioration is key point interventions.

Few studies have explored the important role of different dimensions emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs), perceived social support loneliness in predicting suicidal ideation among Chinese adolescents. Based on a 6-month longitudinal study conducted Taizhou high schools, we aimed to explore associations between psychosocial adolescents, ascertain whether co-occurring increase ideation.A total 3,267 students were eligible for this analysis. Perceived was assessed using Multidimensional Scale Social Support. Loneliness University California, Los Angeles (UCLA) 3-Item one item from Children's Depression Inventory. The Strength Difficulties Questionnaire EBPs. Multivariable logistic regression models used estimate each problem (lack family, friends, significant others, loneliness, emotional, conduct peer problems, hyperactivity, poor prosocial behavior) at baseline follow-up. Multinomial examine association number follow-up.The multivariable results showed that after adjusting ideation, sociodemographic covariates depressive symptoms, low level family (OR =1.78; 95% CI: 1.10-2.87), =2.35; 1.41-3.79), behavior =1.74; 1.08-2.79) predictors risk thoughts increased as increased. participants with five or more had higher having serious than those no (relative ratio =4.50; 2.13-9.49).The confirmed predictive multiple accumulative effect magnifying ideation. More integrated holistic approaches need be taken identify high-risk groups provide interventions suicidality
