Abstract Individuals vary in their ability to tolerate uncertainty. High intolerance of uncertainty (the tendency react negatively uncertain situations) is a known risk factor for mental health problems. In the current study we examined degree which predicted depression and anxiety symptoms interrelations across first year COVID-19 pandemic. We these associations three time points (May 2020 – April 2021) an international sample adults ( N = 2087, Mean age 41.13) from countries (UK, USA, Australia) with varying degrees risk. found that individuals high moderate levels reported reductions over time. However, symptom remained significantly elevated compared low had stable course study. Network analyses further revealed relationships between became stronger among identified feeling afraid showed strongest association Our findings are consistent previous work identifying as important problems, especially times marked by actual health, economic social The results highlight need explore ways foster resilience who struggle uncertainty, ongoing future geopolitical, climate threats will likely lead continued exposure significant

Introduction: Little is known about rates of suicidal ideation and behavior among youth with cleft lip and/or palate (CLP) other craniofacial conditions. Methods: Records patients ages 6 older who were administered the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) Lifetime Version during routine multidisciplinary or team visits between 2019 2023 examined. Demographics information, C-SSRS data, diagnoses assessed statistics including t tests, Fisher exact test, odds ratios. Results: A total 1140 questionnaires across 602 (433 CLP 169 craniofacial) an average age 11.2±3.7 years included. Eighty-four (13.6%) endorsed lifetime ideation, 9 (1.5%) had at least one instance behavior, 30 (5.0%) nonsuicidal self-injury, 2 (0.3%) engaged in self-injurious behavior. Compared CLP, those conditions similar endorsing ( P ≥0.05). isolated palates, greater though differences not significant Incidence suicidality was unchanged before, during, after COVID-19 pandemic Dividing by sex insurance type revealed no difference Conclusion Patients have a high incidence levels are these groups. Suicidality negatively impacted pandemic. Early identification safety risks psychosocial challenges through regular screening can facilitate connection appropriate clinical interventions.

Objective Veterans can present at nongovernment (Department of Defense, Department Affairs) mental health agencies with complex symptom constellations that frequently include posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety. To date, no veteran study has validated these measures on a treatment-seeking sample veterans outside the DoD VA. Methods We used ( N = 493) to validate assess constructs (PTSD Checklist 5, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7). Results The seven-factor disorder hybrid configuration was best fit. fitting model depression measure two-factor structure, cognitive-affective, somatic depression. anxiety unidimensional model. Limitations Follow-up studies should nontreatment-seeking discharged veterans. Conclusions interpret findings within scholarship explore clinical implications for providers.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a prevalent mental health condition and the GAD-7 widely used as screening tool measure of GAD severity. However, research has yielded conflicting findings regarding factor structure instrument, with some studies supporting unidimensional interpretation while others suggest two-factor solution. These inconsistencies highlight importance validating across diverse populations. This study aimed to assess psychometric properties among South African first responders (n = 429). Participants completed demographic questionnaire along GAD-7, Patient Health Questionnaire, Post-Traumatic Stress Checklist, subscales from Maslach Burnout Inventory, namely Emotional Exhaustion Depersonalization. The dimensionality was examined using Mokken Scale Analysis (MSA), parallel analysis, Confirmatory Factor (CFA) Schmid-Leiman transformation. Results supported unidimensionality GAD-7. MSA indicated that all items were loaded onto single scale, strong inter-item correlations high H-coefficient. analysis confirmed only one necessary, transformation extracted general accounting for 84% item variance. Furthermore, reliability excellent, alpha omega coefficients exceeding 0.90, indicating internal consistency. validity in this reinforce its utility reliable assessing generalized anxiety non-clinical setting.

First responders (FRs) commonly present for treatment with complex symptom constellations that frequently include posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety. To date, no FR study has validated these measures on a treatment-seeking sample.Confirmatory factor analysis was utilized to validate assess constructs (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Checklist DSM-5, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7) sample of FRs ( N = 390).The seven-factor disorder hybrid configuration the best fit. The fitting model depression measure two-factor structure, cognitive-affective somatic depression. Lastly, anxiety unidimensional construct.Follow-up studies should each subtype. We position findings within literature, review clinical implications providers, offer recommendations future research.

Purpose Burnout is an issue affecting not only individual officers, but also the agencies they work for and communities serve. Despite its prevalence, there limited evidence effective interventions that address officer burnout. This study aims to advance this area of by identifying organizational factors associated with police By these factors, stakeholders interested in wellness will have more clearly defined targets intervention. Design/methodology/approach Self-report data were gathered from US officers partitioned into command staff ( n = 125), detective 41), patrol 191) samples. Bootstrapped correlations calculated between 20 stressors Findings revealed several shared burnout regardless role (command staff, detective, officer), as well role-specific strongly Together, findings suggest utility considering broad-based affect amidst varying job duties. Research limitations/implications Primary limitations consider when interpreting results include sample homogeneity, unequal subsample sizes, cross-sectional limitations, need implementation test experimental effects reducing identified stressors. Practical implications may provide consulting parties improve departmental conditions Originality/value represents first evaluate their strength association across a stratified sample.

Orientation: High adversity occupations (HAOs) such as first responders, healthcare workers, and military personnel are subject to extreme exposure potentially traumatic events (PTEs), thus increasing their risk of mental illness post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). There is a recognised gap in providing comprehensive, proactive resilience training mitigate these risks effectively. Research purpose: This study aimed introduce the Adversity Resilience Training (HART) programme, designed equip HAOs with tools through holistic, preventive approach based on Predictive 6-Factor (PR6) model. Motivation for study: Existing programmes often lack comprehensive approaches. The HART programme aims fill this gap, offering systemic evidence-based framework. approach/design method: employs literature review identify HAO challenges need preventative programmes, leading development programme. Main findings: provides that addresses both individual skills supportive organisational environments, crucial mitigating HAOs. Implications practice: findings were incorporated into which includes awareness protocol involving leadership, management, family members, internal champions. helps overcome previous shortcomings reduce workers. Contribution/value-add: By integrating neurobiological insights training, presents novel enhancing expands existing theories occupational resilience, model adaptable across various high-adversity settings.
