Abstract Shorter telomere length (TL) is associated with an increased risk for developing chronic or age-related diseases in adults. The process of shortening accelerated response to stress and well characterized adult populations from high-income countries. Prior studies suggest the relationship between stress, shorter TL, disease initiates early life. Nested within WASH Benefits Bangladesh trial, we examined associations parental stressors, including maternal exposure intimate partner violence (IPV), depressive symptoms, perceived child TL rural Bangladesh. IPV during pregnancy was more attrition (− 0.32 (95% CI − 0.64, 0.01), p-value 0.05). This association not significant after correction multiple comparisons. Other psychosocial stressors were outcomes Telomere biology early-life development may vary across settings.
