As cardiovascular disease (CVD) morbidity and mortality increase yearly, this study aimed to explore the potential of weight-adjusted-waist index (WWI) its relation long-term in patients with CVD. The diagnosis CVD was based on standardized medical condition questionnaires that incorporated participants' self-reported physician diagnoses. WWI (cm/√kg) is a continuous variable calculated as waist circumference (WC, cm) divided by square root body weight (kg). For analysis purposes, participants were into four groups quartiles (Q1 - Q4) WWI. study's primary outcome all-cause CVD, secondary outcome, sample weights complex survey designs used ensure reliable, accurate results. final included 4,445 participants. In fully adjusted model, highest quartile (WWI > 12.05 cm/√ kg) showed higher rate compared lowest < 11.03 (HR = 1.37, 95% CI: 1.03, 1.82, P 0.05). risk increased linear association congestive heart failure, attack (P-overall 0.05, nonlinear 0.05); nonlinearly associated coronary angina Survival curve further all cause high group (Q4) (P 0.001). time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) WWI's area under curves (AUC) for 5- 10-year survival rates 0.76 0.792 0.734 0.757 mortality. Abstract Background Amidst growing evidence of the intricate link between physical and mental health, this study aims to dissect relationship waist-to-weight index (WWI) suicidal ideation within a representative sample US population, proposing WWI as novel metric for suicide risk assessment. Methods The engaged 9500 participants in cross-sectional design. It employed multivariate logistic linear regression analyses probe association ideation. further examined potential nonlinear dynamics using weighted generalized additive model alongside stratified test relationship's consistency across diverse demographic health variables. Results Our analysis revealed significant positive correlation increased heightened ideation, characterized by that persisted adjusted model. Subgroup sustained association's uniformity varied population segments. Conclusions elucidates WWI's effectiveness predictive tool underscoring its relevance evaluations. By highlighting value WWI, our findings advocate integration body composition considerations into assessments, thereby broadening scope prevention strategies.

Background Obesity and psychological factors were identified as risk for female infertility. The study investigated the correlation between WWI, depression, secondary infertility, focusing on potential mediating role of depression. Methods According to data from NHANES, this cross-sectional used multiple regression analysis, subgroup smooth curve fitting explore relationship diagnostic ability WWI was evaluated compared other obesity indicators using ROC curve. effect test adopted distribution product. Results This involved 2778 participants, including 381 (13.7%) women with showed that higher (OR = 1.31; 95% CI, 1.11-1.56) depression scores 1.03; 1.01-1.06) associated There a positive infertility (nonlinear p 0.8272) association still consistent in subgroups (all P interaction> 0.05). Compared indicators, (AUC 0.588) also shows good predictive performance Mediation analysis mediated 3.94% confidence interval Z * b excluding 0. Background Recently, weight-adjusted-waist index (WWI), a new for evaluating obesity, has been developed. This study aimed to examine the association between WWI and T2DM in Chinese urban adults. Method A total of 5,0978 eligible participants drawn from prospective REACTION (Cancer Risk Assessment People with Diabetes) were included this study. Participants divided into 3 groups based on baseline levels. Pearson correlation analysis binary logistic regression conducted explore risk factors risk. Results The prevalence central obesity was 14.2%, 46.8% 11.0% respectively, median age 57 years. Logistic showed that significantly associated T2DM. Compared lowest tertile (T1) serving as reference group, second (T2) third (T3) 0.218-fold [1.218 (1.152, 1.288), P < 0.001] 0.286-fold [1.286 (1.212, 1.364), increase odds developing respectively. After adjusting all exception stratified variable, held true age, sex, BMI, hypertension, hyperlipidemia subgroup especially pronounced those aged <60 years, BMI ≥24 kg/m 2 , males, interactions ( interaction <0.05). Conclusion positively adults, young middle-aged males .

The weight-to-waist index (WWI) serves as an innovative metric specifically designed to assess central obesity. However, the relationship between WWI and prevalence of post-stroke depression (PSD) remains inadequately explored in literature. To elucidate PSD. Data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey 2005 2018 were analyzed. Multivariable logistic regression models propensity score matching utilized investigate association PSD, with adjustments for potential confounders. restricted cubic spline statistical method was applied explore non-linear associations. Participants elevated values had a significantly greater risk developing Specifically, individuals higher range exhibited more than twice likelihood PSD compared those lower (odds ratio = 2.21, 95% confidence interval: 1.84-2.66, P < 0.0001). After matching, remained 1.43, 95%confidence 1.09-1.88, 0.01). Tertile analysis revealed that participants highest tertile faced lowest tertile. Restricted further association, plateauing at values. There is significant increased Thus, regular screening should be implemented stroke patients enhance patient outcomes.

The relationship between obesity and mental health has attracted attention. However, large sample studies on the visceral fat depression are lacking. This study aimed to explore by using adiposity index (VAI) lipid accumulation product (LAP). Additionally, it sought potential mediating role of sleep duration in these associations. data used current cross-sectional investigation from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2005 2020, including 19,659 participants. Depression was measured nine-item Patient Questionnaire. Weighted multivariable regression analysis evaluate correlation VAI LAP with depression. non-linear determined smooth curve fitting threshold effect analysis. mediation performed investigate duration. stability assessed through sensitivity were closely related In fully adjusted model, highest quartile increased association 52% (OR = 1.52, 95% CI 1.20–1.92, P < 0.001) 51% 1.51, 1.19–1.91, 0.001), respectively, compared lowest quartile. Specific saturation effects for VAI, LAP, identified smoothed fitting, inflection points 3.81 98.55, respectively. revealed that 5.1% 2.8% associations mediated results showed interactions hypertension cardiovascular disease (P 0.05). associated US adults. non-linear, which may be highlights as valuable tools prevention management
