Social media addiction has become a global public health challenge, and understanding its mechanism’s complexity requires the integration of transitional characteristics development stages breaking through traditional single-reinforcement-path explanatory framework. This study is based on dual pathway positive negative emotional reinforcement, integrating multidisciplinary evidence from neuroscience, psychology, computational behavioral science to propose an independent dynamic interaction mechanism reinforcement (driven by social rewards) avoidance) in addiction. Through review, it was found that early mediated midbrain limbic dopamine system due immediate pleasurable experiences (such as liking), while late maintained cycles dysfunction prefrontal circuit. The transition characterized independence interactivity. Based this, phased intervention strategy proposed, which uses reward competition strategies cognitive therapy alternative weaken sensitization stage, enhances self-control blocking escape mindfulness training algorithm innovation) cross-pathway joint stage. provides theoretical framework for interdisciplinary research perspective first time. It recommended variables are included diagnosis, opening up new paths precise different development.
