Activating the souls of the older adults: insights into the psychological well-being of older adults through social interactions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Addressing
the
challenges
faced
by
older
adults
in
Guangdong-Hong
Kong-Macao
Greater
Bay
Area
(GHMGBA)
terms
of
mental
health
and
enhancing
their
well-being
is
pivotal
for
achieving
goals
cultural
integration
intercity
connectivity.
This
study,
grounded
social
exchange
theory,
conducted
an
analysis
using
survey
data
collected
from
6,500
individuals
(GBA).
By
constructing
regression
models,
research
explores
impact
interaction
on
GBA.
The
findings
reveal
that
any
form
among
GBA
significantly
improves
health.
However,
promotional
effects
vary
across
different
regions.
In
comparison
to
Guangdong,
more
pronounced
Macao
Hong
Kong.
Notably,
there
no
significant
difference
between
Kong
Macao.
Furthermore,
study
identifies
intergenerational
support
plays
intermediary
role
interactions
should
strengthen
adults,
promote
communication
family
members,
increase
opportunities
engage
interactions.
Future
aging
policies
actively
encourage
downward
support,
intensify
support.
