We aimed to evaluate the associations of sports participation with self-rated health and depressive symptoms in a nationally representative sample Japanese adolescents.A questionnaire survey was conducted 1,658 adolescents aged between 12 21 years. Sports levels were divided into high-frequency, moderate-frequency, low-frequency, no-participation groups. Self-rated evaluated using four-grade scale. Depressive assessed version Patient Health Questionnaire-8. Other lifestyle behaviors also surveyed. The examined multiple logistic regression analysis. The participants high- (odds ratio (OR), 0.45) moderate-frequency (OR, 0.46) groups less likely self-report poor than those non-participation group. By contrast, U-shaped association found depression, which group 0.52) have symptoms. OR for (0.89) low-frequency (0.91) not significant. Furthermore, eating regular breakfasts, six or more days/week, having shorter screen times two hours/day negatively associated self-reported symptoms.Moderate- high-frequency activities are reduced risk among adolescents. However, only depression. Participation optimal may effectively lower

Abstract Researchers have adopted a variety of analytical techniques to examine the collective influence 24-h movement behaviors (i.e., physical activity, sedentary behaviors, sleep) on mental health, but efforts synthesize this growing body literature been limited studies children and youth. This systematic review investigated how combinations relate indicators ill-being well-being across lifespan. A search MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Embase, SPORTDiscus was conducted. Studies were included if they reported all three behaviors; an indicator or well-being; published in English after January 2009. Samples both clinical non-clinical populations included. total 73 ( n = 58 cross-sectional; 15 longitudinal) met our inclusion criteria, which 47 children/youth 26 adults. Seven approaches used: guideline adherence (total specific combinations), compositions, isotemporal substitution, profile/cluster analyses, Goldilocks method rest-activity rhythmicity. More associations for 127 children/youth; 53 adults) than 54 adults). Across lifespan, favorable benefits most consistently observed when components guidelines met. Movement compositions more often associated with health youth Beneficial behavior replaced sleep activity. Other analytic indicated that engaging healthier consistent patterns (emphasizing adequate sleep, maximizing minimizing behaviors) better health. Favorable less longitudinal studies. Collectively, these findings provide further support adopting integrative whole day approach promote prevent manage over status quo focusing isolation. literature, however, is still emerging—for adults particular—and work required make stronger inferences.

Abstract This study aimed to explore the association between meeting 24‐h movement guidelines and academic performance among Chinese children adolescents. Cross‐sectional data on 67,281 adolescents were used for analyses. Adherence (i.e., grades in Chinese, Math, English), as well sociodemographic information, measured using a self‐reported questionnaire. recommend at least 60 min/day of moderate vigorous physical activity (MVPA), no more than 2 h/day recreational screen time (ST), 9–11 h/night sleep ages 11–13 years or 8–10 14–17 years. Multilevel generalized linear models associations performance. Results indicated that compared not any three guidelines, participants one likely report better English. Meeting all was associated with (odds ratio [OR] = 1.56), Math (OR 1.51), English 1.73). Additionally, (PA) only Chinese; ST both PA Subgroup analyses varied across grade groups course subjects. As such, general, adherence related Healthy behaviors should be promoted health achievement

While physical activity, sleep and sedentary behaviors are almost always considered independently, they should be as integrated human behaviors. The 24 h Movement approach proposes a concomitant consideration of these to promote overall health. Not only do impact energy expenditure, but have also been shown separately intake, which further explored when considering the entire integration movement under approach. After an evaluation prevalence meeting dietary recommendations, this review summarizes available evidence (using English publications indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE) regarding association between Guidelines eating habits. Altogether, results clearly show beneficial promoting guidelines simultaneously, highlighting that higher number respected better both children adults. Importantly, our point out importance emphasizing need reach for appear closely related, giving recommendations on one might other. Combining with more efficient than them public health strategies.

Abstract Background While recent studies, primarily among Asian cohorts, have linked adherence to 24-hour movement behavior (24-HMB) guidelines with improved mental health—some of which show sex differences—few studies explored these relationships older adults from the United States. Methods National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data 2011-2018 were examined in 2,812 (≥ 65years). Those considered adherent 24-HMB had a sleep duration 7–8 h./night, moderate-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) ≥ 150 min/wk., sedentary (SB) < 8 h./day. Sleep duration, SB, MVPA self-reported, SB obtained validated Global Physical Activity Questionnaire. Depression was measured using Patient Questionnaire (PHQ-9), score 10 indicating depression. Logistic regression used evaluate overall sex-stratified associations between non-adherence all three behaviors, combinations two or individual guidelines, odds depression, adjusted for putative confounders. Results Among full sample, associated 1.7 [95% confidence interval (CI):1.1, 3.1; p = 0.02] higher depression versus those that adhered behaviors. After stratification, association only persisted males [OR 2.5 (95% CI:1.1, 5.4); 0.02]. Within observed who did not adhere + guidelines. Sex-stratified findings revealed remained significant males. sample adults, guideline 2.1 CI:1.4, 3.3; 0.001) compared guideline. Conclusions provide evidence specifically males, suggesting potential sex-specific effect warrants further investigation. Future longitudinal designs are needed confirm explore mechanisms underlying associations.

Objectives To investigate the associations between adherence to Canadian 24-hour movement guidelines—covering physical activity (PA), screen time (ST), and sleep duration (SD)—and vision impairment, specifically myopia myopic anisometropia, among children adolescents in Shenzhen, China. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted 2022 with 4,649 participants. Adherence guidelines assessed using self-reported PA, ST, SD measures, while impairment clinically evaluated. Logistic regression models were used analyze associations, adjusting for sociodemographic factors. Results Among participants, 48.63% diagnosed 11.01% had anisometropia. Meeting ST guideline associated a reduced risk of (aOR = 0.86, 95% CI 0.76-0.98) anisometropia 0.78, 0.64-0.95). both PA further odds 0.73, 0.56-0.97) 0.60, 0.41-0.89). all three (PA, SD) significantly 0.71, CI: 0.53–0.93) showed trend toward 0.69, 0.47–1.02), compared those who met none. two also 0.76, 0.59–0.97) 0.51–1.00).
