Background: Afro-tropical stingless bees produce several products including honey, propolis, cerumen and pollen, which are widely used as traditional medicine food. In Baringo County, Kenya bee honey in particular is a remedy for respiratory disorders, stomach disorders oral thrush, commonly associated with bacterial fungal infections. However, scientific data on the antimicrobial activities phytochemical content of from scarce. Objectives: The objective this study was to investigate vitro Meliponula beccarii pollen County. Materials methods: Eleven samples were conveniently sampled eleven wild occurring nests three ecologically distinct areas. Increasing concentrations then prepared tested against H. influenzae, E. coli, MRSA C. albicans using agar well diffusion assay. broth microdilution test further performed determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations (MICs) Bactericidal (MBCs). Standard qualitative methods analyse contents samples. Data analysed by two-way ANOVA Tukey’s post-hoc tests. Results: comparison distilled water (negative control), had significantly higher mean zones inhibition at concentration 100% v/v coli (9.0±4.7 mm vs 0 mm, p<0.0001, N=11), influenzae (11.1±5.0 (10.8±5.9 p>0.0001, N=11). compared ciprofloxacin standard (30ug/ml), all lower (8.8±2.4 25±0.58 (5.7±3.4 31.7±1.5 N=11) (8.1±2.8 27±0 mm). All did not exhibit activity even (v/v). MICs 9.38% (v/v), 18.75% (v/v) respectively. Notably, exhibited bactericidal activity, only MBC 60.94% showed no antibacterial antifungal micro-organisms. Qualitative analyses revealed that contain alkaloids, phenolics, triterpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, glycosides steroids, but terpenoids. Conclusion: Some County has activities. rich various compounds. Our findings validate use treatment infections its investigation potential source novel agents drug resistant pathogenic bacteria.

The present work aimed to identify the major antioxidants in honey, propolis, and pollen from Jataí (Tetragonisca angustula angustula) Mandaçaia (Melipona quadrifasciata Lep.) bees relate them with plant species. Pollen showed antioxidant activity up 10 times greater than honey 8 bee presenting higher values for DPPH propolis samples. Total phenolic contents presented similar results. A variety of saccharides was found by ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry. Saccharides, terpenoids, lignans, compounds, flavonoids were while pollen. resulted more kaempferol p-coumaric acid high-performance ultraviolet visibility Jataí. In contrast, quercetin Mandaçaia. These findings suggest that may have visitedDaucus carota, Anethum graveolens, Raphanus sativus L. pollination.

Tourism is the third most crucial socio-economic sector that generates income and employment in Republic of Benin, where it occupies a prominent place country’s development policies. In response to sustainable requirements, tourists are worldwide more demanding on quality diversity services they receive. As such, strengthening tourism requires environmentally socio-economically innovations. Bees, with their great ecological functions, offer many facets which can be valued support well-diversified heritage Benin. This review analyses existing heritage, bees apicultural practices country susceptibility apitourism development. promotion strategies based products social, solitary bee species were analysed per suggested ecotourism region country. The involved actors, roles, responsibilities, as well challenges may emerge from integrating into country, also analysed.

Honey serves as a medicinal food that is utilized for both preventative care and the treatment of various ailments. Amidst contemporary challenge antibiotic resistance, honey emerges promising natural antimicrobial solution. The efficacy in therapy hinges on its mechanisms action. Thus, this study investigated non-peroxide antibacterial properties sources from stingless bee species, Meliponula (Axestotrigona) ferruginea, commonly managed Tanzania. findings reveal bees exhibits remarkable against resistant susceptible bacterial strains. Notably, studied samples retained substantial portion their potency (89.9 - 98.7%) even after removal hydrogen peroxide. Interestingly, activity did not correlate with total phenolic flavonoid content, suggesting influence specific bioactive compounds rather than overall phytochemical content. Stingless was most effective gram-positive strains, particularly Staphylococcus aureus. These results underscore therapeutic potential management pathogenic bacteria. Future investigations should focus elucidating present to bolster clinical applications.

The quality and freshness of stingless bee honey (SBH), whether raw (RAW) or processed (PRO), are crucial factors. This study conducted a comparative analysis physicochemical parameters, antioxidant properties, rheological behavior, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy in RAW PRO collected from the nectar Malaysian acacia trees by Heterotrigona itama species. including pH, free acidity, moisture content, ash insoluble matter, hydroxymethylfurfural, sugar were standardized to meet Standard Stingless Bee Honey International Codex Standard. Furthermore, properties assessed measuring total phenolic content (TPC) flavonoid (TFC) both types SBH. behavior was examined terms viscosity stress at increasing shear rates, revealing that exhibited Newtonian flow with displaying shear-thinning exhibiting dilatant behavior. enabled visualization differences chemical structures specific functional groups between honey. findings indicate significantly influences
