Allergic rhinitis (AR), a condition characterized by sensitivity to allergens leading poor quality of life, including disrupted sleep, reduced vitality, lowered mood, changes in blood pressure limited frustration tolerance, impaired focus, decreased performance academic and professional settings, millions missed work school days every year. Approximately 20–40% individuals the United States are affected AR, which carries notable clinical financial burdens. Interestingly, there is strong link between AR asthma extent that countries with high prevalence have rates ranging from 10% 25%. Research has indicated Allergen Immunotherapy (AIT) associated improved symptoms, potential resolve over time, likelihood exacerbations incidence pneumonia concurrent asthma, advantages persist for years even after cessation treatment. Although patients presenting allergies first seen treated primary care setting, gaps training lack available guidance practitioners significantly impacted these persistent resulting inefficient use healthcare resources. To complicate matters, an insufficiency allergists immunologists, impacting capacity provide next-level number who could benefit AIT. Hence, critical need equip providers educational experiences on essential concepts related immune responses recognizing significance common airway treating entities familiarization scientific evidence supporting various options The development implementation medical education algorithms designed assess diverse patients' pharmacotherapy approaches, situations where AIT can be initiated or sustained warranted. present commentary proposes workflow model steps managing mild moderate respiratory via settings. In addition, initial programs minimize burden allergy-specialized while, importantly, actively improving patient outcomes will discussed.

Adherence to rhinitis treatment has been insufficiently assessed. We aimed use data from the MASK-air mHealth app assess adherence oral antihistamines (OAH), intra-nasal corticosteroids (INCS) or azelastine-fluticasone in patients with allergic rhinitis. included regular European users self-reported and reporting at least 1 day of OAH, INCS azelastine-fluticasone. assessed weeks during which answered questionnaire on all days. restricted our analyses provided between January June, encompass pollen seasons across different countries. analysed symptoms using visual analogue scales (VASs) combined symptom-medication score (CSMS), performing stratified by weekly levels. Medication was computed as proportion days reported medication use. Sensitivity were performed considering most missing months 4 data. 8212 complete (1361 users). (use > 80% days) specific drug classes ranged 31.7% for 38.5% OAH. Similar found without asthma, except (better asthma patients). VAS CSMS levels increased no full adherence, INCS. A higher uncontrolled observed adherence. In weeks, 41.2% co-medication. The sensitivity displayed similar results. high MASK-air. Different patterns compared OAH that are likely impact guidelines.

Abstract Background In allergic rhinitis and asthma, adolescents young adult patients are likely to differ from older patients. We compared adolescents, adults on symptoms, control levels, medication adherence. Methods a cross‐sectional study (2015–2022), we assessed European users of the MASK‐air mHealth app three age groups: (13–18 years), (18–26 (>26 years). them their reported asthma use adherence treatment Allergy symptoms were by means visual analogue scales (VASs) or combined symptom‐medication score (CSMS), electronic daily for (e‐DASTHMA). built multivariable regression models compare accounting potential differences in demographic characteristics baseline severity. Results 965 adolescent (15,252 days), 4595 (58,161 15,154 (258,796 days). Users all groups displayed similar models, not found significantly medication. The traditional healthcare model is focused on diseases (medicine and natural science) does not acknowledge patients' resources abilities to be experts in their own lives based lived experiences. Improving safety, quality, coordination, as well quality of life, an important aim the care patients with chronic conditions. Person-centered needs ensure that people's values preferences guide clinical decisions. This paper reviews current knowledge develop (1) digital pathways for rhinitis asthma multimorbidity (2) digitally enabled, person-centered care.

Radix Astragali (RA) has been recognized for its therapeutic potential in allergic rhinitis (AR), yet pharmacological mechanisms remain elusive. This study systematically investigated the physicochemical properties and biological activities of RA's phytochemicals, aiming to elucidate their targets AR treatment. We identified 775 key phytochemicals intersected these with 29,544 AR-related disease targets, pinpointing 747 shared targets. A protein-protein interaction network analysis categorized into five subclusters, TNF, NFKB1, IKBKB, NFKBIA, CHUK emerging as central nodes. Enrichment revealed roles inflammatory immune responses, particularly through NF-κB, IL-17, Toll-like receptor, NOD-like receptor signaling pathways. Molecular docking dynamics simulations confirmed strong binding affinity stability In vivo, RA intervention effectively reversed expression markers an IL-13-induced nasal mucosa inflammation model. Our findings suggest that multitargeted approach involves modulation critical pathways, highlighting potential.

Allergic rhinitis (AR), the most prevalent immunological disease, affects approximately 400 million individuals globally and can significantly impact quality of life (QoL). Despite nearly 25 years guidelines, AR remains largely under- diagnosed, suboptimally treated poorly controlled. In light new knowledge treatment options, there is a necessity to update or revise fundamental definitions facilitate communication across diverse specialties engaged in its improve patient care. The European Forum for Research Education Allergy Airway Diseases (EUFOREA) convened meeting experts representatives deliberate optimal methodology measuring responses establishing novel goals. This paper presents consensus on revised definitions, including control, severe allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (SARC), refractory (R-SARC), remission, resolution, improvement, exacerbation, treatable traits (TTs), treat target, relapse, progression, disease modification, prevention.

Pediatric bronchial asthma, a prevalent chronic inflammatory respiratory disease, significantly affects children globally. However, bibliometric analyses focused on its and immunological aspects are limited. This study aims to provide an overview of the field, identify key focus areas, predict emerging trends. We collected analyzed relevant literature published from January 1, 2000, May 31, 2024, Web Science Core Collection. Collaborative network analysis was conducted using CiteSpace 5.8.R3, VOSviewer 1.6.20, Bibliometrix. A total 911 papers were retrieved, showing growth in research output since 2006, with United States leading publications. The University Western Australia ranks first publication count, while Wisconsin-Madison has highest average citations per paper.
