Background: Systemic inflammation, attacks, deterioration of thoracic region mechanics, medications used, and decreased physical activity level (PAL) fitness negatively may affect respiratory muscle strength. The primary aim this study was to evaluate dynamic inspiratory strength (S-index), PAL, in children with asthma compared healthy peers. secondary investigate the relationships between S-index peak flow (PIF) values functional parameters childhood asthma. Methods: This cross-sectional prospective consisted participants 6–11 years age, specifically, 20 device (POWERbreathe K5) evaluated PIF variables. PAL determined Physical Activity Questionnaire-Child (PAQ-C) FITNESSGRAM test battery. Results: Average (Avg): 1.8 ± 0.6, Best: 2.6 0.6 (asthmatic children) vs. Avg: 2.4 0.7, 3.1 0.9 (healthy children); p = 0.017, 0.027, respectively) (Avg: 34.1 10.3, 45.6 9.9 43.2 12.1, 56.6 14.7 0.015, 0.008 were significantly lower asthmatic peers similar (p > 0.05). There significant S-indexavg S-indexbest PAQ-C score (r 0.498, < 0.025 r 0.547, 0.013, PIFavg PIFbest 0.490, 0.028 0.602, 0.005) Conclusions: Dynamic is affected whereas their levels are comparable However, it found that a higher rate had PALs. These findings suggest pulmonary rehabilitation interventions improve function should be considered an important strategy maintain increase

Abstract Introduction Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by complex immune dysregulation. This study aims to identify key m6A-related genes, particularly METTL3, as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in asthma. Methods Transcriptomic data from the GEO (GSE134544) dataset were analyzed differentially expressed genes. Functional enrichment analysis was performed using clusterProfiler, infiltration profiling conducted with CIBERSORT, competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA, including miRNA lncRNA) network constructed. Drug carried out DSigDB, molecular docking utilized assess interaction between Dabigatran METTL3 protein. Results From 192 four genes (METTL3, HNRNPC, IGFBP2, RBMX) identified hub Gene Ontology (GO) revealed significant biological processes related metabolic post-transcriptional regulation, while KEGG important pathways such spliceosome p53 signaling pathways. HNRNPC central ceRNA network, interacting miRNAs hsa-miR-93-3p lncRNAs like LINC01529. inhibitor, confirming stable binding affinity (-5.9 kcal/mol). Conclusion emphasizes critical role of macromolecules asthma pathophysiology, provides insights into their for treatment.

Chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) represents a series of lung disorders and is posing global health burden. Systemic inflammation phenotypic ageing have been respectively reported to associate with certain CRD. However, little known about the co-exposures mutual associations Here, we aim systematically elucidate joint mediating systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) age acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) CRD based on data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Data for this study was obtained NHANES 2007-2010 2015-2018. The single combined SII PhenoAgeAccel were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression models. dose-response relationship between exposures outcomes determined by restricted cubic splines (RCS) regression. Subgroup mediation analyses further conducted. Totally, 15,075 participants enrolled in including 3,587 patients. Compare controls, patients tended be older, females present higher values. Single-index analysis indicated that either or demonstrated significantly positive association via regressions RCS curves. Furthermore, joint-indexes revealed compared individuals lower PhenoAgeAccel, those exhibited remarkably stronger (adjusted OR [aOR], 1.56; 95% CI, 1.31-1.85; P < 0.001), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (aOR, 1.22-2.00; = 0.001) asthma 1.40; 1.16-1.70; which predominant among aged above 40 years, smokers. Eventually, suggested effects mediated resulting more significantly. This confirmed coexposure effect We recommend assessment may conduce accurate identification populations susceptible early prevention diseases.

Risk factors for asthma include genetic, host, and environmental such as allergens, smoking, exposure to chemicals. Heavy metals from air pollution or contaminated water food can also trigger asthma. This study aimed identify the biological levels of blood lead, mercury, cadmium, determine association with single multiple exposures these heavy using data Korean National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) conducted between 2008 2013. A weighted analysis 40,328 adults aged ≥ 20 years was conducted. Variables included metal levels, health behaviors, demographic characteristics, status. Logistic regression used odds ratio (OR) in adults. The overall prevalence 3.0%. geometric mean values cadmium were 2.14 μg/dL, 3.72 μg/L, 0.96 respectively. An high lead observed, highest level group showing a statistically significant association. Blood mercury significantly associated quartile levels. After adjusting behavior variables, associations persisted quartiles all metals. Multiple showed demonstrated adults, emphasizing need reduce preventive measure against

ABSTRACT Background The prevalence of depression among adolescents with asthma is reported to be 27%–34% across different geographical regions. Asthma control depends on inhaler adherence. Studies the association and adherence are few, especially in Indian subcontinent. Therefore, this study was carried out find its asthma. Methods A hospital‐based analytical cross‐sectional 102 a tertiary care setting. Symptoms were assessed using Center for Epidemiological Studies—Depression Scale Children (CES‐DC) Test Adherence Inhalers (TAI). Result Among asthma, detected 39 (38.2%). As per TAI scores, good, intermediate, poor inhalers were, respectively, found 35 (34.3%), 41 (40.2%), 26 (25.5%) On multivariable binary logistic regression analysis, intermediate inhalers, had 7.093 odds (95% CI 2.189–22.977) 9.002 CI: 2.501–32.405) having compared those good Those families whose monthly income INR 12,000 or less 2.490 1.002–6.187) more than family income. Background and Objectives: Asthma is associated with several comorbidities, one of which obesity. The worldwide increase in obesity has been accompanied by a parallel rise asthma prevalence, recognized as significant risk factor for both the development severity asthma. Obesity often linked to various can complicate management lead poorer clinical outcomes. This study aims investigate prevalence its comorbidities adults single center Saudi Arabia, providing an overview health implications. Materials Methods: single-center, retrospective aimed assess other patients. Data were collected from King Khalid University Hospital Arabia between July 2023 December 2023. Results: revealed that 72.1% patients either obese or overweight. Female had significantly higher BMI values compared males. Our 38.21% female (mean age = 57 ± 13.85 years) 24.14% male 59 14.02 years). Furthermore, proportion asthmatic was greater than those without comorbidities. Conclusions: investigates adult asthmatics Arabia. findings reveal rate overweight among patients, comorbidity females. These results underscore need targeted interventions addressing especially asthmatics.
