Purpose The purpose of this study is to determine the environmental impacts aircraft-induced greenhouse gases (GHGs) and assess effects COVID-19 pandemic on these pollutants. Design/methodology/approach Analyses were carried out by considering all commercial aircraft operating at Diyarbakir International Airport between 2018 2023. Total hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide (NO x ) dioxide (CO 2 emissions released into atmosphere during landing takeoff (LTO) cycle determined compared with 2020, when began. In addition, revealed determining role GHGs global warming potential (GWP) specific impact (SEI). Findings Aircraft-related decreased significantly in LTO amount per passenger increased. Although total GWP SEI 70% 2020 other years, there increases exceeding 10%. While contribution NO calculated be 57.48%, share CO 81.79%. Originality/value originality caused real flight data reveal pandemic.
