Abstract Temperature-adaptive Ni 3 Al-based self-lubricating alloys prepared by powder metallurgy were investigated and evaluated over a wide temperature range. Al-Ag-V exhibit excellent properties wear resistance range, especially for the Al-20 wt%Ag-5 wt%V alloy with friction coefficients as low 0.26 0.23 at room 900°C, respectively, rates 5 × 10 − 6 mm /Nm 4 in turn. It is proposed lubrication mechanism that temperature-adapted provided soft metal Ag temperatures AgVO VO produced tribo-chemical reactions high temperatures.
