Removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the environment via photocatalytic reactions is highly effective for achieving clean air. While Pt deposition on TiO₂ surfaces recognized as a viable catalytic method, understanding interaction, dispersion, and facet optimization remain incomplete, leading to suboptimal performance cost inefficiencies. This study investigates adsorption rutile TiO2 surfaces, focusing (101) (110) facets. It reveals that attachment strongly influenced by surface ion species. The exhibits superior ions, such Pt(OH)2 PtCl5 -, due its higher energy leads reactivity of result reaction toluene degradation. Moreover, strong increases dispersibility increased performance. These findings suggest control orientation adsorb are important optimizing deposition, which will benefit future research development.
