This paper enhances the understanding and measurement of Healthy Ageing (HA) through a systematic review its multidimensional operationalisation. Despite progress in HA research, no consensus exists on constitutive elements, current frameworks often do not capture full complexity. Building World Health Organization (WHO) definition, we organise empirical evidence under three dimensions: intrinsic capacity (IC), functional ability (FA) environment (ENV). To identify conceptual, methodological gaps, provide structured synthesis concepts, measures instruments used evaluating advancement standardisation measurement. Following PRISMA guidelines, extract data from 55 quantitative, qualitative mixed-methods studies with focus. We arrange into primary domains (IC, FA ENV; first order), 15 sub-domains (second order) 84 themes (third order). operational categories via thematic analysis inductively determine final categorisation, moving third to order based conceptual considerations. Given lack knowledge ENV, generate more nuanced categorisation capturing different levels contexts. compute mean usage ratio assess differences application validated tools across aspects. The revealed substantial variability conceptualisation IC are most extensively studied domains, well-established approaches widespread use. Common include locomotion, cognitive capacities status. ENV remains significantly underexplored lacks standardised measurement, as mainstream assessments still prioritise deficit-based over enabling environments. calls for standardised, model integrating individual contextual factors, recognising role structural environmental supports shaping ageing trajectories. Future research should comprehensive pursue an interdisciplinary approach bridging gaps inform policies effectively.

Abstract Background Health literacy is one of the important determinants healthy aging, yet few studies have focused on association between health and falls. Aims This study aims to explore relationship falls, with a focus sex differences among older people in China. Methods cross-sectional enrolled 2,144 aged ≥ 60 years from Shandong Province, China 2021. We used general screening scale assess literacy, collected incidence falls past year. Logistic regression models were employed analyze investigated by subgroup analyses. Results The prevalence adequate was 21.7% (95% CI: 20.0–23.5%) 25.4% 23.6–27.3%), respectively. In fully-adjusted model, associated lower adults (OR = 0.71, 95%CI: 0.52–0.96). Subgroup analysis revealed this ( P for interaction <0.05). Specifically, female group showed no significant 0.92, 95% 0.59–1.44); however, male demonstrated robust 0.58, 0.37–0.90). Conclusions Older which appears differ sex. men but not women. These findings emphasize need policymakers healthcare providers consider when designing implementing programs aimed at improving preventing population. Improving women could be strategic component bridging inequality
