A scoping review on the body awareness rehabilitation after stroke: are we aware of what we are unaware?

Body
awareness
(BA)
is
a
complex
multi-dimensional
construct
that
refers
to
the
subject's
ability
consciously
perceive
and
integrate
sensory
proprioceptive
information
related
position,
movement,
balance
of
one's
own
body
parts.
Since
it
involves
multiple
brain
regions
include
different
functional
networks,
very
often
affected
by
cerebrovascular
damage
such
as
stroke.
Deficits
in
monitor
our
actions
predict
their
consequences
or
recognize
parts
distinguish
them
from
those
others
may
emerge
after
In
this
study,
we
decided
explore
whether
specific
treatments
targeting
BA
are
discussed
current
literature,
considered
an
outcome
neurorehabilitation
processes
for
stroke
patients.
To
achieve
goal,
scoping
review
on
often-underreported
problem
was
performed.
After
analyzing
existing
emerged
patients
rarely
assessed
rehabilitated
through
stimulation
rehabilitation
protocol.
Additionally,
treatment
outcomes
only
"physical"
perspective
improvements
walking,
balance,
movement
parts,
rather
than
standpoint.
