The effect of SMEs’ digital supply chain capabilities on supply chain financing performance: an information processing theory perspective

Purpose This study aims to explore the impact of digital supply chain capability (DSCC) on financing performance (SCFP) Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The mediating role information sharing (IS) moderating environmental uncertainty (EU) were also investigated. Design/methodology/approach Based processing theory (IPT), this paper constructs a theoretical model investigate DSCC SCFP in 276 SMEs using ordinary least regression test hypotheses. Findings results show that both sensing (DSC) responding (DRC) have positive effects SCFP. IS plays relationship between DSC SCFP, while EU strengthens DRC IS. Originality/value First, takes perspective which extends related studies taking technology perspective. Second, inner mechanism is revealed by introducing as mediator. Third, boundary conditions for DSCC–IS link are clarified considering source requirements.

Determinants of Chinese Exporters' Online De-Internationalization

Abstract Given the growing trend of using digital platforms for exporters' internationalization, management online internationalization has become a critical issue. However, academic research in this area remains sparse. Specifically, little is known about when and under what conditions exporters may consider discontinuing use platform exporting, i.e., de-internationalization. Purpose Digital technologies (DTs) are one of the most important and beneficial ways to enhance effectiveness supply chain finance activities. Based on resource orchestration theory, purpose this study is apply “resources-capability-performance” framework investigate how DT deployment (in terms both breadth depth) impacts financing performance (SCFP). Design/methodology/approach Hierarchical regression analysis was applied in theoretical modeling examination. Through sample 380 survey questionnaires from Chinese manufacturing industry, empirically validated proposed model. Findings Results present that depth positively impact SCFP, whereas transparency (SCT) acts as a mediator between them. Moreover, alignment moderates relationship SCT.
